Freed

Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. – Mark 11:23

Some great lessons are learned after studying Joshua 3. As shared in the post, “How Amazing is God”, with Him on our side, things will be set up to make the impossible possible. What is difficult for us, is easy for God. The gift of Christ on the Cross has freed us so we are not held back and like this song by Jesus Culture, we can Break Every Chain.

How Amazing is God?

After reading Joshua 3, the feeling is “how amazing is God” as Joshua demonstrates to the people what can be done when God is with us. Just like He held the water while the Israelites crossed over the Jordan River to the Promised Land, He clears a pathway to a better future for us and watches over us.

A few things are learned from this miracle. First, if we trust in His direction for our future, we can be assured that a clear path will be set. Second, faith believes big but is willing to start small so dream big dreams knowing that God is big enough to make those big dreams possible. Third, nothing is impossible with God. With God on our side, things will be set up to make the impossible possible. What is difficult for us, is easy for God.

The gift of Christ on the Cross has freed us so we are not held back and life works like it should. We are no longer chained up by sin that limits our potential. God has freed us so we can be all that He made us to be.

This day with You Lord, we have studied today’s passage and learned that Your promises will come true if we want to give glory to You and are persistent. Because of this inspiring message, we are constantly ready to follow Your instructions in how best to live. You have provided the pathway for our journey and You will make sure we will get to our destination. As we set out on the journey this day, we look forward to an amazing day because we believe that With You, we can passionately believe in what you are doing, believe that nothing will hold us up in our work, and know that one day at a time the impossible will become possible. Amen.

The Week Ahead

This week, we will continue the journey and share some thoughts from the study of Joshua 3-4.

Below are some questions for reflection
Joshua 3
How do you feel about God after reading this passage? What do you learn in this passage about acting and trusting God? What things do the people learn from this miracle? What do you learn about God’s promises from this chapter?

Joshua 4
What is the importance of the stone memorials? When faced with difficulty, do you remember what God has done for you in past situations? What does the timing in verse 18 indicate about the crossing (see verse 23)?

Believe that God has a great plan for you.It all starts with receiving a plan from God through faithful, consistent, and powerful prayer. Here is a video/poem to inspire you this day and throughout the week: This Day with God.

All You Can Be

I just started a study in the book of Joshua. God chooses Joshua to take over from Moses as the one responsible for leading the Israelites into the Promised Land. This seems like an impossible challenge but with God, all things are possible and we can be all that God made us to be.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

Learn the playbook
To a successful day
By working to improve
In following the Way.

Use past experiences
To where life has lead
And current instructions
As you step ahead.

You will be unstoppable
As a key player on His team;
Making the impossible happen
From what used to be a dream.

You will do amazing things
Because God is with you.
He will clear the path
And get you through.

He will protect
And watch from above.
Bringing inner peace
And so much love.

In any battle faced in life;
Be it anxieties, trouble
Or worries about the future,
He can turn it into rubble.

So look at any challenge
Squarely in the eye.
Believe that God is bigger,
And tell it “goodbye”.

Success is in having a plan
And prayer is the key.
He will give you the upper hand
To be all that you can be.

Knowing Whose Side to Be On

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? – Romans 8:31

Studying and sharing in the post “Assistance to Go the Distance”, Rahab knew whose side to be on and she helped the men of Joshua as they gathered intelligence. Even though she had a suspect past, God was for her and she was used by God to fulfill His purpose. She received God’s grace and listened to the right people. We all need God’s grace as we continue along lives journey. Once received, we can gain wisdom to live the way life is meant to be lived.

This day with God, accept the fact that God thinks you are AWESOME! You can use the skills you have, be happy with who you are, and let God work out the rest. Receive inspiration for a great day from today’s video: The Way – Jeremy Camp.
