Immanuel means “God With Us” and Exodus 29:38 through 30:38 explains the only way that could happen before Christ’s death on the Cross. The purpose of the tent of meeting as described in this passage was to be a special place to make atonement and to meet with God.

The tent of meeting was sanctified through offerings made in the sacrifice of animals. Also used in the sanctification process was incense, atonement money, a basin of water for washing, and anointing oil.

God consecrated the tent of meeting and the altar along with Aaron and his sons to serve as priests (Exodus 29:44). There was also a census tax required to pay for sins and gain favor with God. All this was to be done according to exact instructions so that the people could meet with Him.

Christ’s victory on the Cross has made it much easier for believers in present times. Since Christ came and died on the Cross as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, the Holy Spirit in our heart is made available to us at any time or any place.

This day with You Lord, we know that You dwell among us and You get our attention by inspiring us with amazement as we go throughout each day. It may be with a brilliant sunrise that bathes us in the warm sunshine. It may be that You shout to us in a thunderstorm or paint a beautiful rainbow in the sky. Each day with You can be amazing and we give praise to You today.  Amen.
