Armor to Win our Battles

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. – Ephesians 6:16

The post “Faith and Integrity” points out what is needed to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. We can trust in God because He provides the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit.

Take inspiration from today’s song I Will Trust in You by Lauren Daigle. This day with God, be patient and trust. Have faith because God provides the armor to win our battles. We are assured of victory because of the power of God that comes from accepting Christ as Savior.

Faith and Integrity

The goal is loving God and His people. Reading in 1 Timothy 1:18 through 2:7, to meet the goal requires following God’s plan for us which is a meshing of a pure heart and a good conscience. Accepting Jesus and then carrying out the daily activities that meet the goal.

The TRUTH of the law provides a road map to our destination and a relationship with Christ provides the power to get us there. If you know you are doing what needs to be done, then your faith is stronger and can be a weapon in the fight against the things that are obstacles along the Way.

God desires that all know the TRUTH and the power of a relationship with Christ to win our battles. Because of Christ, we have unlimited access to God through prayer. As we pray, we will be shown the Way and how to overcome the obstacles to ultimate victory.

Lord, this day with You will be amazing because prayer mixed with faith gives growth to all good thoughts, ideas, and plans.  To get places and accomplish things that matter, we know the importance of taking the path You have laid. Your Way to TRUTH and the power we receive in accepting Christ has given us the faith and integrity needed to gain our victory. Amen.

Power of Love

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

The post “Truth and Power” shares that the TRUTH from the law provides direction in life and a relationship with Jesus Christ provides the power of love to get us the destination.

Take inspiration from the song Known – Tauren Wells. Jesus takes our mess inside and cleans it up so we are back to full speed. Known and loved with power to make the impossible possible for the glory of God.

Truth and Power

The relationship of Paul and Timothy as described in 1 Timothy 1:1-17 is like a father to a son. Paul left him at Ephesus to contend with the false teachers who were deceptive and had their own interest in mind.

The content of the false teachers were myths and endless genealogies which only promoted controversial speculations rather than the advancement of God’s work. Ephesus was known as the place that worshiped the love-goddess Artemis and the people were being taught a false doctrine that produced spiritual sickness instead of the TRUTH that produces spiritual health.

The TRUTH from the law is to provide direction for life. It’s there for rebels, the ungodly, immoral, and even murderers. Paul had persecuted and even murdered Christians in his past but because of a relationship with Jesus, received the power to change.

Love is produced from a pure heart that is filled with faith and wants others to succeed. The aim is to help people by caring for them, encouraging, and teaching so they don’t have to learn the hard way. Just like Paul, humility and gratitude should mark our lives as we all need grace to be transformed into the likeness of Christ.

This day with You Lord, every detail of our life is known by You yet we are loved so much that You sent Your Son to die for us. Your thoughts about us are not on our past but only our potential for the future. You can use each of us to care for others, encourage, and teach them so they don’t have to learn the hard way. Amen

Spiritual Weapons

This day with God, the war we fight is a spiritual war and the weapons we use are spiritual weapons like faith, hope, and love. With these weapons, every negative thought is taken captive so more are ready to be brought to Christ and the enemy no longer has control.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

Undoing the negative
Thoughts that decimate
Like unbelief,
Despair and hate.

For evil has no control
On the journey
From here to there
Since Christ died for me.

There are spiritual
Weapons like love,
Hope, the sword of faith,
And power from above.

An army of angels
Will keep me learnin’
And just a click away
An inspiring sermon.

A mighty resource
From my iPhone
So I’m never
Ever alone.
