Ask to Receive the Help Needed

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. – 1 Peter 5:7

Explained in the post “Our Connection Gives Protection” is how David faced many enemies but went to God to receive the help needed. We can do the same as we face our foes in life. Our foes may be things like mistrust, tension, fear, or anxiety but our faith in God is bigger than our foes.

The enemies we face can keep us down at times. It can get so bad that we can hardly breathe. But God will provide music for our ears, laughter for our souls, and a rainbow after every storm.

Like in the song God Help Me by Plumb, we are set free by God’s love through Christ. Such a mystery in that in that all it takes is that we believe and just accept God’s grace to assure first place. Our victory is the enemies defeat.

Our Connection Gives Protection

David was in distress because of his enemies. His requests for help as listed in Psalms 31 are to be rescued, to be guided, and delivered from his enemies. He found comfort in God’s love as he remembers what was done for him in the past. There is also protection for us in the storms of life because of God’s protection.

We can ask for help just like David did when under stress or facing difficulty. Our enemies may not be those trying to kill us as in David’s case but enemies like fear, anxiety, critics, bad health, etc. Mistrust and anxiety are foes to good health but faith can rescue us from them because of God’s love through Christ.

We can follow the command of verses 23-24 by growing in our faith through the experiences we have gone through in our past, from what we learn in the Bible, and by memorizing scripture. Most of all, love the Lord and pray for deliverance just like David does in today’s passage. Believe God will provide music for our ears, laughter for our souls, and a rainbow after every storm.

This day with You Lord, we turn to You for help. This gives shelter from the enemies we face in life and hope for a bright future. You will provide music for our ears, laughter for our souls, and a rainbow after every storm. Today, Jesus will carry our burdens and we will simply do Your will. Amen.

From Downcast to Great Joy

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. – Psalm 145:18

The take away from the study of Psalm 30 and as explained in the post “From Gloom and Doom to Boom” was that we can turn a bad day into a good one with the Lord’s help.

We can trust God to turn our day from doom and gloom to boom. Take inspiration from today’s praise video He Is With Us by Love & the Outcome and start turning what was impossible into something possible because God is with us.

From Doom and Gloom to Boom

As written in Psalm 30, David’s experience was a sense of security when the Lord was with him but he was distressed when the Lord was not with him.  The source of this feeling of security mentioned in verse 6 is the presence of the Lord. David’s confidence was shaken when he didn’t pray for help and praise the Lord for that help.

The difference maker from David’s despair to his joy was his relationship with the Lord. When he prayed for help, he was released from his sense of gloom and received joy in return. So much joy that He praised the Lord.

I’m reminded of some photos I took one time at the office. Looking out the window, I took a photo of a cold wintry day with snow on the ground. The weather in Texas can change fast and before long, the snow melted. As these photos below demonstrate, the morning can be cold with snow and the afternoon can be sunny and clear.

So it is with our confidence or sense of security. We can change from being downcast to great joy by simply beginning our day with prayer and offering praises to our Lord.

This day with You Lord, we have learned from David’s experience how bad times can turn into good times with Your help. Like turning on a light switch, we can turn darkness into light. Today Lord, we will trust and obey and follow your way. Like a spark in the night, Your presence now has sparked a new light on our day and we have confidence that the impossible can become possible because You are with us. Amen.

Pathway

To provide encouragement, our achievements are a good source. The growing number of achievements will add to the belief in your potential, motivation, and the desire to achieve even more. As you look at your wins over a lifetime, a winning tradition will be established not only in your own life but in those future generations that you influence.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

There is a purpose
For everyone
So seek excellence
And have some fun.

When planning your day,
Expect good to happen
As you pray daily
And spiritually tap-in.

New thoughts given,
Ideas brought out
And a pathway to dreams
Without a doubt.

Growing a business,
Or career positioning,
Develop the discipline
Of listening.

The way to achievement
Will become apparent
And the path to success
More inherent.
