The Less Traveled Road

This poem inspires blocking out distractions and concentrating on our most important endeavor. Accepting Christ as Savior and taking the less traveled road to eternal paradise.

The Ten Commandments
We pay attention
Giving common sense
Comprehension.

Finding priority
As we do life together
Helping rather than hurting
One another.

A society
That follows these commands
Steps ahead with faith
And hope in His hands.

With the ONE true God
The future is freed
For through His Son
He has guaranteed.

So accept this promise
To an eternal abode
The one to paradise
On the less traveled road.

Reason to Keep on Believing

I can do all things through Him who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13

This day with God will be amazing because we are bound by a common purpose and will stay together along this journey. Today, we continue to find ways to apply God’s Word in our life by taking in the lessons from recent posts like “Along the Way with Power to Fulfill our Purpose”. The mission is adventurous and sometimes difficult but it can change the world and we can take comfort in knowing God is with us.

God made a way for life to work more efficient so we can spend our time on things that are most important. Like the song Reason by Unspoken points out, when things get tough and we feel like giving up, His love is the reason to keep on believing. We have the common purpose of making more disciples and this purpose pulls us together to stay the course with a hunger in our heart and fire in our soul.

Along the Way with Power to Fulfill our Purpose

We have good memories that we will cherish forever and some bad memories we had rather not have. No matter what, we can rest assured that the future can be better than the past if we prepare each day with God; have a time set aside to plan and pray for a productive day. Then day by day, we can lean on the grace of God; making course corrections along the way with power to fulfill our purpose.

The purpose of the procedure discussed in Numbers 19 was to purify a person after touching a dead body. If a person touched a dead body, they were unclean and unable to be with God in worship for seven days. During this time in history, there were masses of dead bodies due to plague, war, and the harsh conditions as they wandered through the dessert.

The procedure here satisfies God’s acceptance of His people. An innocent animal had to die as part of the purification process. Fortunately for us, the Lamb of God takes the place of this complex procedure for our purification in current times; dying on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Jesus Christ replaces this procedure and makes things right for us so we can receive the power to fulfill God’s plan for us.

God made a way to simplify life for us so more time can be spent on what is most important which is to invite others to the love and grace of Christ. This common purpose in making disciples gives us a reason to stay together and the will to stay the course.

This day with You Lord, we understand more about the reason for sacrifice and we are grateful for the love and grace of Christ. Through the water of baptism, we are incorporated into Your Way of salvation. We also have a purpose in telling others about this Way that makes things right so You are with us at all times with power to change the world for the better.

Ability and Responsibility

And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. – 1 Corinthians 12:28

The post “Our Responsibility for Kingdom Building” points out the various responsibilities surrounding the tent of meeting. In current times, the Lord doesn’t dwell in the tent of meeting but inside each of us by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we should take care of our bodies, determine our ability, and fulfill our responsibility in God’s Plan for Us.

This day with God will be amazing because God thinks you are AWESOME! Focus on what you can do and not on what you wish you could do. Then what seemed to be impossible will become possible.

As the song You Say by Lauren Daigle points out, believe in what God says. Since He is strong, you are strong and you belong. You are God’s precious child so just believe and offer your gifts for His purpose.

Our Responsibility in Kingdom Building

As we continue this journey step by step, Numbers 18 arranges the various responsibilities surrounding the tent of meeting. Aaron was to be the leader of the priestly family along with his sons who were responsible for the sanctuary and the priesthood. The Levites were to assist in the work involved with the tent of meeting, the furnishings, and the altar.

Aaron and his sons would receive the offerings from the people. The first fruits of their harvest which included the finest olive oil, new wine, and grain. Also, the meat offerings from livestock. The Levites would receive all the tithes in Israel in return for the work they did while serving at the tent of meeting.

The take away from this passage is the need to determine our responsibility in kingdom building. In current times, the Lord doesn’t dwell in the tent of meeting but inside each of us by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we should take care of our bodies so we can fulfill God’s Plan for Us.

God has made each of us to accomplish amazing feats and it is up each individual to discover this gift God has given, accept the responsibility, and let God do the rest. There is a poise and calmness when we just accept our lot in life, let go, and allow God to be in control.

Our individual strength is not in being like everyone else but in being who we are; a precious child of God. God is with us and His Spirit abides in us so we have unlimited potential because God has unlimited potential. It is up to us to realize how God can use us for His purposes.

The body of Christ coalesce the diverse gifts of Christians. Through the Spirit, we are to discover our gift for the express purpose of kingdom building. The photo below was taken at my church. In this photo many gifts are being exhibited from the choir in front of the church to those behind the scenes doing technical sound and video presentation.

This day with You Lord, we ask that You show us Your plan for our life. To discover our strengths so we may each offer them to You in all we do. Help us to do amazing things with ease by using our individual gifts You have given us, accepting our responsibility, and letting You do the rest. We have faith that You will bring success and all will be blessed. Amen.
