This poem is about gaining momentum for a winning day. May God bring music for your ears, laughter for your soul, and a rainbow after every storm!

Passion to your destiny,
Devotion to your call
Will lead you to a reward
Beneficial for all.

Keep your eye on the reward
And if there is a setback,
Remain confident in God
To help you with a comeback.

When the going gets tough,
Get a change to the outlook
And be keyed up
By the Good Book.

Telling you that the rainbow
Became the agreement
To never flood all the earth
As sins payment.

Reminded by the rainbow
After every storm
Of the victory in Jesus
Making the heart warm.

Desire and Fire

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2

Written about in the post “Committed” was that the sons of Reuben and Gad had a desire to settle on the east side of Jordan so they passionately propositioned Moses and Eleazer about their wishes. For the land on the east side of the Jordan was suitable for their large herds and flocks with good pasture land.

As you set your priorities along the journey, there are times when you may have a desire and the fire or passion to fulfill a purpose God has for you but you may want to stay committed to your brothers and sisters in Christ.

As you determine what talent or gift you can best use in building up Christ and the church or do your thing for God’s glory, take inspiration from the song Different by Micah Tyler. Desire to be set apart, be change, and have a passion for sharing. Break the worldly pattern of seeking worldly desires and start something different that is in God’s will – His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Committed

This day with God, we continue being committed to the journey through His Word as we go the correct way, the challenging way, the team way, and the victorious way. Reading in Numbers 32, the sons of Reuben and Gad had a desire to settle on the east side of Jordan so they propositioned Moses and Eleazer about their wishes. For the land was suitable for the large herds and flocks with good pasture land on that side of the Jordan.

Moses hesitated with a response because his initial reaction to the proposal was unfavorable. He assumed they had selfish motives and were trying to avoid helping the others fight for the Promised Land located on the other side of the river.

The agreement made by the sons of Reuben and Gad was that they would fortify their women and children so they could stay behind but the fighting men would continue to be committed to the Israelites until the Promised Land was obtained.

The take away as explained in this passage is that we should be committed to our brothers and sisters in Christ. To determine what purpose we desire in building up Christ and the church. This day with God, let us dream big about how best to spread the gospel message, use pictures to inspire, and pray that our dreams will transpire.

Being committed requires a desire to meet your promises. Many times, a photo can inspire one to stay committed by helping to visualize the reward when staying committed. The photo below is of the sunset in Hawaii.

Lord, we pray that we continue the commitment along this journey through Your Word. Continue our desire to step ahead each day. We have obstacles we come up against like the lack of time, being able to balance our responsibilities, and other issues within our busy world. Help us to overcome these obstacles, stick to our commitments, and gain momentum towards our purpose of sharing the gospel message. Amen.

Get Your Worship On With An Uplifting Song

I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13

As brought out in the post “Negative Influences”, God was on the side of the Israelites and sanctioned a war to rid them from the negative influences of the Midianites. He’s on our side today to help fight any negatives that try to confine our progress.

We get hit with so many negative thoughts on a daily basis. One idea is to get back on track with something positive like uplifting music. Take a few minutes to listen to praise music like Beautiful Day by Jamie Grace. Music can get us in the right frame of mind and back on track for an amazing day with God!

Mark Shields's avatarThis Day With God - A Spiritual Journey

If our thinking starts going in the wrong direction, we can lose our edge for a great day. Instead, we should think of what good things are going our way and this will build momentum so that we stay on track. This day with God, we will continue to build momentum along the journey as we read Numbers 31.

God was on the side of the Israelites and sanctioned a war to rid them of the negative influences of the Midianites. This was to avenge the Midianites because of the events of the past when the men had been enticed by Midianite women to go along with their idol worship. It was to be total vengeance and victory leaving no survivors.

In our life, we need to continually rid ourselves of the negative influences including thoughts and actions that hold us back. These negative influences need to be dealt…
