No Worries

Shared in the post Turning Tough Situations into Something Positive were thoughts about how God led His people through a tough situation as they were trapped between the Egyptian army and the Red Sea but then the sea was parted allowing them to escape.

Just like He did with the Israelites back then, God can take us out of tough situations today and turn them into something positive. Out of intense difficulties, God can make simplicities emerge.

Ever hear a song that gives you a lift during times of struggle. We get hit with so many negative thoughts on a daily basis. One idea is to start the day with uplifting positive music that gets your mind in the right frame of mind as you start your day. Here’s one for today: It’s a Beautiful Day – Jamie Grace . Enjoy!

Now we can look forward to the salvation God has promised us. There is no longer any room for doubt, and we can tell others that salvation is ours, for there is no question that He will do what he says. – Hebrews 10:23

Turning Tough Situations into Something Positive

After the Israelites were set free from Egypt, God did not lead them through the Philistine country though it was shorter. In Exodus 13:17 through 14:31, it is explained that God did not want the people to face war so instead of leading them the shorter way, He led them around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.

They knew their way because the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so they could travel by day or by night (v. 21). The Pharaoh of Egypt pursued them with his army and the Israelites were trapped between the army’s pursuit and the Red Sea.

It seemed as though the Israelites were in a hopeless situation and we can also feel in hopeless situations in life. We can sometimes feel trapped in bad jobs, bad relationships, and bad habits but just like the Israelites, the answer is to trust in God.

We may worry about things because as we take on more responsibilities, more things can go wrong but one thing is for sure and creates true joy for the future; accepting Christ as Savior. Then our tough situations only get better as the negative past is washed away, the joy of the present is highlighted, and the future becomes brighter each and every day.

This day with You Lord, we ask that our thinking is in the right direction. Thoughts of knowing that with You Lord, we are on the brink of a great day. Because of You Lord, we are thinking good things will go our way and this will build momentum so that we will stay on track for an amazing day. Lord, we know that You can take tough situations and turn them into something positive. Out of intense difficulties, You can make simplicities emerge and we are thankful. Amen.

A Prayer for Families

Pray for families to help each other be at their best – helping with chores, planning together, encouraging each other, and having fun together. Praise God for providing for needs; for food, shelter, and support of each other. Each evening, let us thank God and pray for His guidance for the future so we can help others be at their best and set out to follow Him. Make it a habit to pray before eating meals and ask that God plants inspiring thoughts into each other’s heart; finding ways to pass on to others thoughts, ideas and inspiration for a brighter future.

Here is an old song and video to inspire us today. It’s about the need to take care of each other; parents providing a bright future for their children and children to look after their aging parents: Teach Your Children – Crosby Stills Nash and Young.

They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship to the breaking of bread and to prayer. – Acts 2:42

Free At Last

God gave instruction for the first Passover in Exodus 12:21 through 13:1-16. Moses and Aaron communicated these instructions to the Israelites and they responded by following just as commanded. Then they bowed down and worshiped (v. 27).

At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt but the Israelites followed the instructions for the Passover sacrifice to the Lord so the firstborn in each house with blood on the sides and tops of the doorframes were spared.

Pharaoh then told Moses and Aaron to leave with the Israelite people along with their flocks and herds. They had been in the land of slavery for 430 years and now were free.

This day with You Lord, we are thankful that by responding to You Father, we are also set free. We are free from the bondage of sin by accepting the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Lord this day, help us to be disciplined in putting You first so that in everything we do, we glorify You. In Jesus name. Amen.

Inspire Big Smiles

Studying in Genesis 50, Joseph never considered taking revenge on his brothers or those who placed him in prison. He didn’t hold a grudge but was kind; He was respectful and this influenced those around him. The Lord gave him great success in whatever he did. This day, let us do the same by being respectful, being kind, and blessing others with a big smile. In turn, this may inspire big smiles to be passed around the world on this beautiful Sunday.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

Life can throw us for a loop
But we can always recoup
If we know that everyday
We are going the right way.

Lifting up with gentleness
And setting a precedence.
Supporting with kindness
To handle any crisis.

Influencing others
All sisters and brothers
Telling the kin
To hold up their chin.

Forgiving others for the hurt
By not getting in the dirt
But letting go of the past
And staying steadfast.

The past we did face
Has been handled with grace
So go the extra mile
And offer a big smile.
