Putting Thoughts into Action

This poem was written to offer inspiration for putting thoughts into action. To efficiently accomplish tasks in each area of life (faith, family, finances, career, fitness, and having fun) some good thoughts are needed. Some tasks are done on a daily basis, some are done weekly, others may be done monthly, and others may be done on a specific date. Each day, follow your God given mission and prayerfully consider the tasks that need to be done. Believe that God will provide you with thoughts, ideas, and direction to accomplish the mission.

Step Ahead

Each area of life
Faith, family, finances
Needs evaluation
To seek what enhances.

To keep each area
Running efficiently,
Tasks are done daily
And deliberately.

So each day starts
With ambition
Completing tasks
For the mission.

Continually
Finding a new way
For improvement
Without delay.

Routinely
Thinking of the mission
And ways to carry out
Each tasks to fruition.

Blessed with a Home

What no eye has seen,
What no ear has heard,
And what no human mind has conceived
The things God has prepared for those who love Him. – 1 Corinthians 2:9

Within the post “Warnings from Mom”, good advice is given by the mother of a future king. Wives and mothers are so important in a society because children are blessed, husbands are blessed, and all who are around them are blessed.

Wonderful memories come from a great home. It is unfortunate that all homes are not perfect but there is one home that is perfect. Be inspired each day that heaven is our ultimate home and reward.

As the song Home by Chris Tomlin highlights, heaven is a place where every tear is wiped away and all fear is gone. There is always something to look forward to when our forever home is a place where the streets are golden and all chains are broken.

Warnings from Mom

Reading in Proverbs 31, Lemuel’s mother warns against the things of this world that can destroy. Things like relationships with those who do not have your best interest in mind and bad habits like drinking that can ruin your life and those around you. Some believe the mother in this passage is King Solomon’s mother yet this has never been proven. Nonetheless, she is teaching her son who would be a future king about God’s word and to follow the instructions found in His word.

This passage not only gives advice about the dangers of immoral companions but also explains the benefits of a good wife to her husband. That she works hard for her husband, her children, and for the needy. That she gives unconditional love and is of great value to a family.

Wives work vigorously to make sure the family has food on the table. Clothed with strength and dignity; they speak with faithful instruction and watch over the affairs of the household. They work hard and like the story below, some may have to put up with husband problems.

*A wife called her husband after hearing on the news about a driver going the wrong way on the interstate. She knew her husband would be traveling along this interstate and wanted to warn him. Her husband answered her call … telling her that he had seen many cars going the wrong way but so far they had been pulling over to the side of the road. The wife told him to turn around and get going in the right direction.

Husbands are blessed, children are blessed, and all who are around are blessed because of good wives and mothers. We should give them the reward they deserve not only on Mother’s Day but on all days of the year.

Lord, this day we are thankful for this opportunity to study Proverbs. Today finishes this study and we are thankful for the advice You have given through Your word. We are wiser because of this study and we have been given advice that we can apply in our daily living. Amen.

The Week Ahead

The study of Proverbs will come to a close this week.

Below are some questions for reflection.

Proverbs 31
* What does Lemuel’s mother warn against? How can you warn children and grand-children about the dangers of companions who are immoral? What is the character of a good wife? How has the study of Proverbs helped you experience wisdom in your daily living?

As summer break approaches, I plan to change up the pace. I’ll be posting more sparingly throughout the summer but be back to the regular routine in September.

Victory starts by having a plan. By accepting God’s plan for us, all we need to do is follow and believe He will provide the power. He will give the upper hand to make what seems impossible possible.
