Step Ahead with a Plan

The poem at this link was written to inspire dreaming and planning out your activities. No one wants to look back on life and have to say, “if only I had done this or that when I was younger”. To step ahead, there needs to be a plan.

Freedom to Improvise

But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold. – Job 23:10

As the post “There is Freedom in Wisdom” points out, good things happen if you listen to those with experience, follow instructions, and prepare. If plans don’t totally work out, wisdom gives you a sense of freedom to improvise and tweak the kinks.

Some of the greatest plays ever in the game of football happened when the initial plan didn’t work out. Think of a quarterback that goes back to pass only to be blitzed by the defensive team. He decides to run the ball away from the blitz for either a first down or even a touchdown.

It’s the same in the game of life. Take inspiration from today’s song Unfinished by Mandisa. Life is not easy as negatives blitz us from all sides and we all can get down or discouraged but God’s Work in us may not be done. If He started something good, just keep believing it and keep working it until He completes it.

There is Freedom in Wisdom

Some lessons taught in reading Proverbs 4 are that the hardest decisions can be determining what we want out of life, what we should do to obtain it, and setting our priorities. Today’s passage submits that wisdom is what we should want the most.

There is freedom in wisdom. We are protected, exalted, empowered, and given insight so that we are no longer limited by mediocrity but we become unrestrained towards excellence. The Bible is all about gaining wisdom because we are learning from the past, praying in the present, and listening for instructions toward the future.

Explained in this passage is that we gain wisdom by desiring it with all our heart (v. 8). Studying God’s Word to receive food for the soul, praying for direction, and asking help in using our time efficiently. We should set our priorities so that we are living for God’s glory, sharing with others about His unlimited power, and bringing out the positives in those around us.

Our spiritual heart needs to be protected by wisdom. Just as the physical heart is protected by our ribs in our body, our spiritual heart must be protected with good values. That’s why our thoughts are so important and why Scripture is so important because God’s Word guides our thoughts.

This day with You Lord, we greatly value Your wisdom. We pursue this wisdom in order to guide our every step. The wisdom we obtain from Your Word and the experiences we go through will provide us with a brighter future that leads us to a new level of freedom. Amen.

Desire and Power

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him. – Philippians 2:13

The post “Wellbeing for Daily Living” laid out the effects of wisdom and discretion in your life. The results are courage, confidence, efficiency, health, safety, peace, riches, and honor. The things to be desired in our daily living.

What God gives in a plan for life is a treasure and the more you lose yourself in this plan, the more desire and power you will have. Take inspiration from the song My Desire by Jeremy Camp and desire to let God work in you for His purpose today.

Wellbeing for Daily Living

Reading in Proverbs 3, we are told that those who keep wisdom’s commands have a distinct advantage in their wellbeing and towards living the way God wants us to live. Wisdom is knowledge mixed with experience that creates peace, prosperity, efficiency, health, safety, and honor. The things we desire in our daily living.

Wisdom is related to daily living because the experiences we go through in life help us understand God’s instructions. His Word is our guide to the best way and Christ provides the clear path.

A person must have a plan, a will, and the desire to keep going when the going gets tough. God’s Plan for Us is the best plan. The Great Physician brings wellbeing both mentally and physically to our life that refreshes us with ultimate joy now and into the future.
