And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love but the greatest of these is love. – 1 Corinthians 13:13
The take away from the post “Dilute What Pollutes” is that love comes before rules and regulations. Jesus is inside our heart so we can serve out of love rather than rules or regulations.
Because of Jesus, the future is brighter because rules and regulations do not restrict us since we are free to live our lives according to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. We can accept all and are fee to more easily carry out our lives in a positive manner using the unseen qualities of faith, hope, and love.
This day with God will be amazing as we read Mark 7:14-30 and let the Son shine on us so we reflect the light providing sunshine into the lives of others. In today’s passage, the Pharisees had complained to Jesus about the disciples eating without the human tradition of ceremonial washing.
Jesus explains that only what comes out of a person defiles them. Out of a person’s heart, evil thoughts come – sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly (v. 22).
So Jesus is explaining that it is what comes out from inside us that causes defilement so if we can fill our hearts with more good thoughts, we have a chance to dilute what pollutes and ultimately clean with the unseen qualities like faith, hope, and love.
The kids next door in my neighborhood are doing their school work from home during the Coronavirus outbreak. They created what you see in the photo below. Faith, hope, and love are the unseen antidotes we have in life as a therapy against the unseen disease of sin.
This day with You Lord, we come to You in prayer to follow Your Way with an eternal perspective. You live in our hearts to clean the germs that create sin with the use of the unseen therapies like faith, hope, and love. We are inspired by the lessons learned and look forward to the lessons we will learn each day so we can more effectively reflect Your light. Amen
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6
Studying and posting thoughts in the post “Reflecting On The Way”, discovered is that if we embrace grace and follow the Way, we grow in character so that every moment becomes a building block to accomplishment as we step ahead.
For a follower of Jesus, things fall into place because of His grace like the song Your Grace Is Enough by Matt Maher. Because of the Savior, there is a change in behavior; following where He leads and doing good deeds; accepting the truth and teaching our youth; learning His ways and giving Him praise.
Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. – Isaiah 55:6
I remember riding my bike as a kid when all of a sudden I stopped going anywhere and looked down to see that the chain had slipped off. It’s the same with our day, if we don’t begin our day with God, the power that pushes us forward is gone and we keep trying to peddle but get nowhere.
Within the post “Let Him In The Boat” is the thought that the first step is the hardest but each step after that provides more momentum. Gain momentum today from the song One Step Away by Casting Crowns. It’s that first step of faith that’s the hardest but each step after that guarantees greater strength because Jesus gets in the boat with us to calm the storms and give us…
One idea for facilitating the application of our faith is the use of inspirational poems because poetry narrows thoughts to a few lines as a way to help the mind encourage the heart into tangible actions. This poem was inspired after reading and studying Hebrews 3:7-19. Taking opportunities to spur on a spouse, a child, or a colleague is never a wasted activity but impacts lives in ways we can only imagine. If we begin our day with this frame of mind, we will have taken the first step for a successful day.
