His Mighty Arms Protect From Harm

The photo is the Brazos River near Waco Texas. Brazos is Spanish for “arms”, short for “Los Brazos de Dios” or “the arms of God.” This day with God, let us take courage as we step ahead with boldness because everything will turn out alright with God by our side. Each day, we rely on the Word as our guide and today we are reading Psalm 46, writing down our next steps of action, and using poems or songs to encourage.

God is described in this psalm of praise as being strong and of being a helper through trouble. His mighty arms would protect from what harms to deliver the people of Jerusalem from their enemies. They could trust God to both protect and fight for them knowing that He was in control and His River of grace would keep flowing to bring peace to them.

Things in this world can shake us up. Storms, earthquakes, fire, and war among other things. Fear can hold us back but knowing God is with us brings courage so we can step ahead through our difficulties with confidence because there is poise to face any situation.

The next time a crisis hits, remember that God wants to be our refuge and strength. We can pass through the fire with Godspeed and not get burned. This day with God, we can let go, hand the crisis over, and let Him do the work to get us through (vv. 10-11).

This Day with You Lord, we study Your Word and pray knowing that You are with us to help us through any crisis. We have poise to handle any situation. Even death has no sting because of the victory You bring. We share about this Good News to encourage during fear so we have the poise to step ahead through any fire. Amen.

Poetry Friday 10-21-2022

A poem posted at my other blog Step Ahead is inspired by the post “God Speed”. Jesus had the ability to know things before they even happened. As believers, we have the advantage if this same power through the Holy Spirit and things will fall into place faster than imagined along this journey.

Also, receive inspiration from the song Thrive by Casting Crowns and believe you are made for more than what the world has to offer. You are made for more than just surviving but you are made for thriving.

The Spirit Lives in YOU

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? – 1 Corinthians 3:16.

The main point of “The Temple” is that all who accept Christ as Savior become a temple or church where the Holy Spirit lives. This day with God, let us celebrate the victory of Christ and be clothed with virtues that can be used throughout a lifetime and beyond.

This day with God, wake up and see the light. Celebrate with songs like My Beloved – Passion ft Crowder. There’s a fire coming up in your heart and soul.

The Temple

The structure in the photo above is St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. This was the site of the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Inside, we see the detailed work that went into construction during that time.

The poem or song in Psalm 45 is celebrating the marriage of a Hebrew king to a foreign princess.  The picture we get is a picture of a royal wedding of the Messiah and His bride

The king is described as righteous, mighty, and victorious. The bride is described as beautiful and glorious. She will be blessed with gifts from the wealthy who seek her favor.

If you travel through Europe, you will see many cathedrals that were built with such glory and beauty as a representation of the bride of Christ. We know today that all who accept Christ as Savior become a temple or church where the Holy Spirit lives.

This passage is a song of praise to Christ. Each church service should be filled with excitement as the congregation celebrates the victory of Christ in their hearts and becomes clothed with virtues that can be used throughout a lifetime and beyond.

The passage says the king and his bride will pass on their values to their children so the king will be remembered and honored (v. 17). As we are taught virtues and values, we pass them on to future generations. The values we pass on to future generations are the greatest inheritance the next generation will receive.

This day with You Lord, we are excited about this day because each day we gain experiences that build up our values. We then can share these values with others. Help us today to inspire others towards Your Way and point out the benefits of the power of the Holy Spirit inside. Help us to pay attention to the unseen qualities of faith, hope, and love so they become the foundation of our temple where the Holy Spirit lives.

Walking in the Spirit

Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. – Galatians 5:24-25

A thought from “Defeating the Enemy” is that victories come by receiving the power of the Holy Spirit which is obtained by stepping ahead with discipline and seeking the truth of God. Jesus demonstrates these positive steps to victory throughout the Gospel.

As the song Build My Life by Pat Barrett inspires, let us live for God. Building our lives on holy living, upon the plan Jesus has given, and walking in the Spirit.

What do you call a pig that knows karate?
