One Nation Under God

This is what the Lord says: Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my righteousness will soon be revealed. –  Isaiah 56:1

A major point from “Resources Available” is that a nation under God brings justice, protection, and longevity to its people. The nation is under God with liberty and justice for all. God blesses the nation with prosperity throughout the land with resources available to take care of the needy and afflicted.

God helps individuals and nations when they help themselves so as in the song Come Let Us Return to the Lord by Matt Redman, let us have confidence that things fall into place by accepting His grace. Because of the Savior, there is a change in behavior so let us follow where He leads and do good deeds. As we accept the truth, teach our youth in God’s ways, and give Him praise.

Resources Available

Jesus has paved the way to a clear path so we can constantly go for advice or insight and listen to God for guidance. We have confidence that it’s going to be a great day because God has given us the resources needed to step ahead with confidence.

When we pray and develop steps to take each day with God, there is assurance that we will do the right things. Psalm 72 is a prayer that the king have characteristics of justice, protection, and longevity. Many attribute this Psalm to Solomon.

In the early days of his reign, Solomon reigned righteously and with godly wisdom. This was the time in the history of Israel when that the temple was built. It was the time in the history which became known as the golden age when there was prosperity. It was also a time of generosity because the needy were provided for out of the abundance.

We can deduct from this history that righteousness and national prosperity are related since the natural effect of a nation under God brings help to the needy and afflicted. There is also security for the people which also provides stability and prosperity throughout the land.

God helps individuals and nations when they help themselves. Things will fall into place when the people accept His grace. Because of the Savior, there is a change in behavior and the people follow where He leads to do good deeds. The people accept the truth, teach their youth in God’s ways, and give Him praise.

This day with You Lord, we look back on history and it’s plain to see that the certain characteristics of leadership are needed for the success of individuals and for nations. When we put You first, there is justice, security, and prosperity. You are at work for the good of those who come to You for direction and follow with trust. Technology has changed and jobs have changed but You Lord … never change. We can learn Your Way and it will be useful now and forever to build strong individuals, families, and communities. In Jesus’ name we pray … Amen.

Purpose for Mamas

This Mother’s Day, enjoy the video Mamas by Anne Wilson with Hillary Scott.

From a sermon of Reverend Steve Ramsdell, the message was that for Mamas, God has a plan and purpose. Just like Mary’s child was a child of God, so is yours. Because of Mary’s child, history changed because God through grace and forgiveness on the Cross was in the process of establishing a new family; an eternal family that after two thousand years is now on the other side of the planet right in your local community. Mary became not only the mother of Jesus but also His follower just like you. What a tremendous purpose moms have. In raising their children, they have a major part in changing the world.

Poetry Friday 05-12-2023

A poem posted at my other blog Step Ahead is inspired by the post Be Led by Love From Above which is a study of Judges 17 when Israel had no leader at the time, and it was an era of decline. A nation that is not led by God is cut off from the love from above and is not fit for greatness. The people tend to get off track doing their own thing and there’s no way they can work together for the good of the whole.

A Future Shaped By Your Hope

Tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. –  Romans 5:3-5

A takeaway from “Hope Has a Name” is that God’s past action is a basis for hope. When God has been faithful and made good on promises, tell others about it so you produce hope for others. Hand over to the next generation an optimistic future shaped by your hope.

Hope has a name, and its name is Jesus so never get down because a new day comes around. Remember what Jesus went through on the cross. Remember the things people have gone through but have come out stronger on the other side.

Be inspired by the song God is in the Story by Katy Nichole & Big Daddy Weave. Even in hard times, we can have joy because of hope. If life had many broken parts, the light of a new day will rise over the horizon to warm our hearts.
