Ready For His Return At All Times

As Jesus explains in Luke 12:35-59, we should be ready for His return at all times because it will be when we least expect it (v. 40). If we knew the Lord would be returning within 30 days, we might be more disciplined in the use of our time. We would be paying attention and getting things in order. Like taking an exam, we would prepare in advance by making notes and studying the material.

For a Christian, it is no different, we should study and get ready for each day by feeding our soul with thoughts of a believer. We should use the abilities and opportunities God has given us. Then constantly evaluate each day to make sure we are on the right path.

This day with God, remember He’s not distant but near. Stay focused on His presence. This day, He may shout to us in a thunderstorm or paint a beautiful rainbow in the sky. His guiding principles will help in every activity throughout our day.

Discovering the Treasures of Heaven is Priceless

Life is so much more than possessions and money. The passage studied and written about in the post Have Faith and the Lord will Provide is about what is really important in life. If we go after possessions, there is more stress and worry about losing them. Worry is worthless but discovering the treasures of heaven is priceless.

God’s Word provides food for a healthy mind, body, and soul and His Son creates light for our understanding. We can be inspired by a praise song that brings peace and joy to our day; music for our ears and inspiration for our souls: here’s today’s video: Beautiful Day – Jamie Grace. Enjoy!

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Luke 12:34

Have Faith and the Lord will Provide

Reading in Luke 12:13-34, a man in the crowd misunderstood why Jesus was doing what He was doing. The man was asking Jesus to be a judge or arbiter over his inheritance rather than teacher of how one should live. Jesus continued to teach in the Parable of the Rich Fool that it is wise to store up eternal spiritual treasure rather than earthly temporary earthly treasure for ourselves.

Jesus then continues teaching about life. If we work, study, and pray to grow rich towards God, there is no worry. He asked the disciples to consider the ravens who do not store up their food in barns yet have plenty to eat. Then He points out that we are much more valuable to God than birds.

Jesus points out that we can’t add a single hour to our life by worrying (v. 25). He said, “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these” (v. 27).

So the lesson is for us not to worry about what we will eat, drink or wear but to have faith and the Lord will provide. Worry is worthless but discovering the treasures of heaven is priceless. Believe that you have a purpose and achieve that which God has in store for you. He sees each of us as an extremely valuable part of His team. We may not receive earthly treasures but there are many benefits that go along with being a child of God; including inheriting eternal life.

This day with You God, we pray for healing both mentally and physically; that our thoughts are on how You will provide and not constant worry about how we must provide for our own needs. Lord, You created the universe, are all powerful, and provide the most amazing inheritance for each of us; much more than anyone has ever received on earth. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Too Blessed To Be Stressed

The main thought of this poem is that what God really wants from us is that our strongest desire is to listen and follow His direction. Then we will be provided with what we need and He will then bless us beyond our wildest dreams. Have a wonderful weekend my friends!

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

God blesses and
Takes away our stresses.
It is a plan for life
To overcome strife.

The more we surrender
And praise His splendor,
He will render
Dreams to engender.

Never ever doubt
But follow the map
It’s found in His Word
Where wisdom is conferred.

Wisdom is a treat
Like honey that is sweet.
Under His control,
We have a blessed soul.

With permission
To fill a mission,
Join His amazing team
And fulfill some dreams.

Things may get difficult
But passing the test will result
By following His directions
And making good connections.

So love God with your all;
Follow the call
And He will bless
With much success.

Bold and Persuasive Witness

There were warnings but also encouragement as I wrote in the post Of Most Importance is Jesus in Our Heart.  We should be inspired to be a bold and persuasive witness through the Holy Spirit. Because of the Holy Spirit, we receive counsel at all times to help us and here is a video poem to inspire our day with this thought in mind: Blessings Throughout Each Hour.

Enable me to speak Your word with great boldness. Stretch out Your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Jesus. – Acts 4:29-30
