Abundance in Life

Abundance is available to all. Every day, you have greater opportunities than you ever had before because you are the beneficiary of the past. C.S. Lewis said one time, there are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

Impact of faith
along with desire
pushes one forward
and gives great power.

Even if discouraged,
desire what is good;
desire what is just;
doing what one should.

Making an impact
on everyone
by showing concern;
doing what can be done.

Encouraging others
as a great author
inspiring them
en route to prosper.

Give them confidence
that God is big enough
to give a bright future
if they never give up.

Sing of the Lord’s Great Love

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. – Psalm 89:1

This day with God, receive the peace Christ has provided. Express your joy for God’s love to you by persevering, building character, and maintaining hope.

Just as in the song I Am Free by Newsboys, each day can be amazing because we can live out loud. We can pray, listen for instructions, and get things done now. Opportunities to do great things are right in front of us so let’s go out and give God our best.

Rejoice

As explained in Romans 5:1-11, because of Christ’s life, blood, and death, we have the opportunity for peace with God, access to God, and the glorious hope of being with God throughout eternity.

We are justified by faith by accepting Christ as the atonement for our sin. We can rejoice in the past for the grace received, rejoice in the present because the difficulty we face will build up our character, and rejoice in the future because of the hope we have that things will only get better since God is in control of our life.

I take my dog for a walk in the evening and she loves it. She lives for the moment as she listens to the bird sounds and identifies the scents. She notices the change of seasons as it cools in the fall and warms up in the spring. We should follow this example as God walks with us in life; living for that moment, listening to Him, and following our Master’s direction.

This day with You God, we realize that we’ve made some bad decisions along our walk but through Christ, You have given us a new path. You loved each of us so much that You sent Your own Son to die on the cross. This same love is available to us each day because we have been justified by accepting Christ into our life. We are also grateful for our forever home we have with You and the future walk as we go along life’s journey. Amen.

Impossible is Made Possible Because of the ONE Who is Greater Inside

Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God”.  – Luke 18:27

The Cross has made you flawless and with God, you can passionately believe in what you are doing, let nothing hold you up in your work, and know that one day at a time the impossible will become possible.

Within the post “The Promise”, highlighted was how Abraham maintained hope, believed in God’s power to fulfill the promise of a son. Even though he and Sarah had tried before and were beyond the childbearing years, Abraham had faith in God to fulfill the promise. Abraham’s faith was very strong and he passionately believed in God’s ability to make the impossible possible. The result was that a child was born and Abraham ultimately became the father of many nations.

As in the song Greater by MercyMe, bring your doubts and fears to God. Bring your hurts and your tears to Him because greater is the ONE living inside you. The cross has made it possible.

The Promise

The promise referred to in Romans 4:13-25 is available to all who have faith in the ONE who is greater because then the impossible is made possible. Paul points out in this passage the example of Abraham who maintained hope and believed in God’s power to fulfill the promise of a child. He and Sarah had tried before to have children and were beyond the normal childbearing years but Abraham’s faith was strong.

Abraham and Sarah eventually became parents and Abraham ended up becoming the father of many nations. The promise depended on a righteousness that comes by faith (v. 13). Abraham reacted to God’s promise with hope and courage. He walked in the footsteps of faith and was justified by believing God’s promise.

The same is true today for us. We cannot depend on baptism, or church membership or good works to save us. We must depend on an inward trust that takes place when we give our heart and life to Jesus Christ. *

God gave courage to Abraham through His Word. The word came to Abraham in a vision and said, “Do not be afraid, Abraham. I am your shield, your very great reward.” Abraham wanted to be a father of blessed children. Ask yourself what it is that you want out of life. Like Abraham, seek God’s guidance and patiently wait for your reward.

This day with You God, we can ask what it is that we want out of life and like Abraham, seek Your guidance and patiently follow Your way to our reward. You are with us God and today we can lift our voices to You in prayer to discuss our burdens and listen for the promises You give each of us. We dream big today with faith that You are big enough to handle each situation. A little bit of faith goes a long way because what seems hard for us is easy for You. In Jesus name. Amen.
