Connected to the Root

The passage Romans 11:17-24 explains the root and natural branches. The root is God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The natural braches are the people of Israel who were rejected because they had not accepted the Gospel message. Explained is that the branches were broken but olive shoots (Gentiles) were grafted in and now share in the nourishment of the root (v. 17).

The rejection of Israel would not be final for both the Gentiles and Jews would share in the tree’s nourishment based on faith in God. Over time the natural branches would flourish once again. In the meantime, those grafted in should have the attitude of humility and faith. They should have a positive attitude towards their part in God’s overall plan.

The past is done but the present and future is still being worked out so share about why this day is amazing and why it will be amazing tomorrow. As a believer, let us all share from the same nourishing food for the soul that not only improves our life but also the lives of those around us.

This day with You Lord, we have all we need for an amazing future. By accepting Christ as Savior, things will only get better because we have been given the principles taught by Jesus and are willing to follow. Your Word Lord is a map for our journey and the Spirit Guides our steps. We are grateful to be able to receive the nourishment needed to flourish. Amen.

Forgiven and Given

If you have anything against anyone, forgive them, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses. – Mark 11:25-26

In the post “The Door is Opened with Grace”, pointed out is that there is a way to be forgiven and given the key to the kingdom. One of God’s qualities is that the door is open to all with eyes ready to see Him. The door is open to anyone with ears that listen to the Gospel message and receive the gift of God’s mercy.

So accept, appreciate, and affirm all who are willing to receive grace. Remember … the cross meant to kill brings the victory and as pointed out in the song Forgiven by Crowder, there is freedom in His amazing grace. His arms are open to receive those who believe.

The Door is Opened

Scripture Reading: Romans 11:7-16

As pointed out in the post “Flourish Once Again”, God rejected Israel because they did not accept the Gospel message. The door was locked to salvation. Instead, the Gospel message was offered to the Gentiles who accepted it and were saved. Comparing Israel to a tree, the Jewish people are like the branches. The branches were broken so the Gentiles were grafted in their place.

The rejection of Israel is not total or final. Both Gentiles and Jews share in the tree’s nourishment based on faith in God. So the roots were still there giving nourishment to grow again. Over time the remnant would flourish once again.

Revealed to us in this passage is that God’s door is opened with grace! It’s the key given to those with eyes ready to see and with ears willing to listen. By accepting God’s grace, we are forgiven and provided the key to His kingdom. His arms are open to all who believe and ready to receive His amazing grace.

This day with You God will be amazing because of accepting Your gift of grace. It is the key to opening the door to You where freedom is found.  Proven on the Cross is that everyone has tremendous value in Your eyes for on this Cross meant to kill is gained our victory. Amen.

Great New Day

Every day you have greater opportunities than you have ever had before simply because you are the beneficiary of the past.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

Each day is a new day
To be an achiever
Because from the past
You are the receiver
Of experiences
From your yesterdays
And can relate usual things
In unusual ways.

Each day you have
An opportunity
To make a difference
In your community
And can do all things
Since the Spirit resides
Inside to guide
And with God who provides.

Flourish with His Grace

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. – 2 Peter 3:18

When we grow in the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we receive the nourishment needed to flourish. It’s really just that simple. The Gospel message has a beautiful and refreshing simplicity about it that sets us free and never lets us down.

Take inspiration from today’s song Grace Wins by Matthew West and gain confidence in continuing to flourish with His grace.
