Trust and be Courageous

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God I will praise His Word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?- Psalm 56:3-4

In the passage 1 Corinthians 15:12-34, Paul discusses the resurrection of Christ. One thought from the post “No Fear” is that those that believe in resurrection receive the advantage of courage because there is power even over death. They are willing to take on more challenges and pursue their dreams. There is freedom in Christ because death has been defeated and there is life eternal with joy, peace, and happiness with God.

Just as highlighted in the song Courageous by Casting Crowns God made us to be courageous. Not passive but willing to make a stand, resolute, and ready to answer God’s call.

No Fear

Reading in 1 Corinthians 15:12-34, some did not believe in resurrection of the dead but Paul explains that the logical conclusion would then be that not even Christ was raised from the dead. On the other hand, there is no fear for those who do believe in the resurrection of the dead.

Those that believe in resurrection receive the advantage of courage because there is power even over death. They are willing to take on more challenges and pursue their dreams. There is freedom in Christ because death has been defeated and there is life eternal with joy, peace, and happiness with God.

The resurrection is essential and the Bible teaches that Christ was raised from the dead. We serve a living Christ who offers us a way to defeat death. God’s plan is that those who accept Christ as Savior will receive the same power that Christ received when He was raised from the dead.

When Christ returns as explained in the Bible, God will establish His kingdom on earth. Christians that have already passed away will be raised from the dead so that body and spirit will be united again and all believers will live with God in eternal paradise.

This day with You Lord, we have a future with power over death. This makes us courageous and sets us apart. We serve a living Christ and our hope in Christ takes us beyond this life into eternal paradise. Amen.

The Gift of Grace

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. – Ephesians 2:8

Within the post “Facts of the Gospel” highlighted was the gift of grace available to all who accept Christ as Savior. The greatest organization ever developed for reaching people for Christ is the church.

In church, you meet great people and develop great memories. You learn how to live and what is truly important in life. The main message to pass on to others is the true blessing their church can bring to their lives.

The greatest life mission is to help people find their way to their future forever home. Like in the song Home by Chris Tomlin, you have the opportunity to help people find the place where they will be free at last, where fear will be gone, and where God’s arms are open. In heaven, the streets are made of gold … the place we all want to belong and look forward to as a forever home.

Facts of the Gospel

In the passage 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, Paul summarizes the gospel message that Christ died for our sins according to what was prophesized in the scripture. He was buried, raised from the dead on the third day, and witnesses saw Him alive.

Paul substantiates Christ’s resurrection with eye witnesses. Peter saw Jesus after the resurrection, the disciples saw Him, and at least five hundred other people saw Him (v. 6). Also, James the half-brother of Jesus saw Him after the resurrection and then Paul himself.

The best way to prove something is by eye witnesses. Paul explains that it is by the grace of God that he became an apostle and witness for Christ because he had persecuted the church earlier in life only to become one of its greatest advocate.

So too, it is by the gift of grace that you have the opportunity to witness for Christ. Grace is received by faith, anyone is eligible, Christ is the source, and grace is eternally available so that God can accomplish great things through you. Because of the gift of grace, you will be blessed and others will be blessed.

This day with You God, we are thankful for the facts of the gospel. Prophesized in scripture, substantiated by Christ’s resurrection, and proven by witnesses. Because of the gift of grace, we all can be witnesses for Christ. We can meet great people and develop great memories. We can learn about the best way to live and what is truly important in life. Most of all, we can pass on to others the facts of the gospel so that they can receive Your gift. Amen.

Mindset

This day with God, a poem to inspire us to keep going with strength from within. God is big enough to pull us through. Don’t let critiques snuff out your passion and enthusiasm for your ideas just like Walt Disney didn’t when he was fired from a job because he was told he was not creative enough.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

Don’t let critiques snuff out your passion and enthusiasm for your ideas. Walt Disney was fired one time from a job because he was told he was not creative enough.

Push for ideas
You believe in
And keep on going
With strength from within.

Don’t let critiques
Snuff out the thrill;
Enthusiastically
Use your skill.

Don’t let worry
Keep holding you back;
Embrace God’s wonder
To keep you on track.

Don’t let distractions
Gobble up each hour;
Wait patiently
For God’s power.

He is big enough
So be devout
Believing the plan
Will all work out!
