Into the Light

At one point in history, the relationship with God was only one of hope but today the world has been brought out of the darkness and into the light. Done by the ONE born at Christmas.

Our growing faith is never depleted because each time we share the gospel message, the light of Christ shines brighter.

Merry Christmas!

Pass It On

The poem “Pass It On” was inspired from a sermon of my pastor Ryan Barnett. The historical story of Christ did not start with the birth a little over 2,000 years ago but actually started with Adam and Eve. You are a part of His story. Christmas is a time when we see God working miraculously at the least likely place and at the least likely time! Similar to passing the light at a candlelight service, the Light of Christ is passed from person to person.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

You are a part
Of His story
That fulfills a promise
And such a mystery.

A miraculous deed
At the least likely place
And the least likely time
That offers grace.

A part of His story
That lets the Good News
Flow out to others
So they too are enthused!

Transferred from one person
To another
As a new life
Is discovered.

A life of peace,
Spiritual nourishment,
Sensational joy,
And encouragement.

Follow the Light

The poem “Follow the Light” was inspired from a sermon of my pastor Ryan Barnett. The Christmas story begins with people dwelling in darkness; overcome with despair and all hope lost until the birth of Christ. He was born to be our Savior who came to wage war for our freedom. We need only prepare because the King is coming to set us free. We gather to celebrate. We prepare our hearts to be messengers so others will turn their attention to the Light. To become transformed into the likeness of Christ and get ready for Christ’s coming again. He will not be stopped … it’s a guarantee and our Savor will come for all.

Dwelling in darkness,
Overcome with despair,
And a world in need
Of major repair.

Then came the birth
That changed the outlook;
The birth of Jesus
Explained in God’s book.

His story of a Savior
To set us free
And help us be
All we can be.

So get involved
In His story
And celebrate
All His glory.

By being ready always
To follow the Light
And receive the gift
Of a future so bright.

The Gift

My pastor for many years Steve Ramsdell once said in a sermon, “Why put off a gift that you can use for a lifetime and beyond? It is the gift of God’s love for us through His Son”. This poem was inspired by this thought. Have a Merry Christmas!

Searching for a gift
But little time to go
For the stress is high
And I just don’t know.

Most gifts are short term
But one is forever
And meaningful
For any endeavor.

The gift of a Savior
Born in this season
Is the true reason
My stress is easing.

Because of this babe
Born in a manger
To be our Savior
And a real game changer.

This time is glorious
Bringing peace with our fate
And our ticket through
The pearly gates.
