Grace is Available to All

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. – Romans 15:7

The post “Flowing Stream of Grace” points out the importance of each person. Jesus took a big risk to heal the man with leprosy but it demonstrated to us that grace is available to us all.

Be inspired today by the song Jesus, Friend of Sinners by Casting Crowns as we let our hearts be led by mercy and be mentors for the Way to others.

The Flowing Stream of Grace

Individuals and churches may differ in convictions or practice but there is one common thread that binds us; the power of Christ in what we believe and how we live. This day, let us take in this flowing stream of grace that heals.

Reading in Mark 1:40-45, a man with leprosy came to Jesus for healing. Leprosy is an infectious skin disease in which pale-colored sores appear. Those with the disease during ancient times were shunned as outcasts. They had to live away from everyone else. During the time of the writing of Mark, the plight of a leper was usually death. There was no medication to alleviate the disease but in current times, there are medications to clear up the disease.

Jesus healed the man with leprosy and sent him on his way instructing him not to tell anyone. Instead, the man talked freely and spread the news about how he was healed by Jesus. The news about Jesus spread and people came to Him from everywhere. From this time forward, Jesus had to stay in secluded places to get any rest.

Jesus took a big risk by reaching out to touch the leper. It shows how important each person is and the concerned attitude we should have for those that society considers the untouchable. We should never judge but build up and encourage. The blood of Jesus cleanses and worthiness is built upon grace as we accept His mercy.

Grace is a gift that is always available so this day, let us be patient with God’s timing because grace is like a flowing stream of water that keeps coming and coming.

This day with You Lord, we read about the healing of the leper and we understand how important each person is to You. You took a big risk as You reached out to the leper so we ask that you give us the courage to reach out to those who have been neglected by society. Help us to build up and encourage by offering Your gift of grace which is like a never ending stream that keeps coming and coming. Amen.

Look Up for Direction

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6

A take away from the post “Sorting Out Priorities and Planning” is that Christ rose early before the day began to ask for guidance, sort out priorities, and plan the day. This is something we should do too so our thoughts are clear and we start each day with adjusted priorities for the sake of the ultimate mission.

Be inspired today by the song Look Up Child by Lauren Daigle. When darkness seems to win or the world seems to be crumbling, look up to God for direction. He is in control for every situation.

Sorting Out Priorities and Planning

This day with God will be amazing because peace comes through realigning priorities; through having good thoughts, through working together as one in Christ, and through connecting all the dots along the path.

Reading today in Mark 1:21-39, we continue to connect the dots as we note that Jesus and His first disciples went to Capernaum. On the Sabbath, they went into the synagogue where Jesus taught with authority and drove out an impure spirit from a man.

Jesus began to create a stir with the miracles He performed. The people were amazed and the news spread quickly. After leaving the synagogue, he heals many who had various diseases and drove out many demons.

The pressure on Jesus began to mount as more people came to Him for healing. Before sunrise the next day, He went to a solitary place, where He prayed (v. 35). He meets each crisis with a “quiet time” to sort out priorities and plan out His moves. He stays on the move by going to the nearby villages throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons (v. 39).

Noted is that Christ rose early before the day began to ask for guidance, sort out priorities, and plan the day. This is something we should do too so our thoughts are clear and we start each day with adjusted priorities for the sake of the ultimate mission.

When we pray and develop a game plan each day with God, there is confidence because we know that we will do the right things that will lead to success. Jesus has paved the way to a clear path so we can constantly go for advice or insight and listen for guidance. It’s going to be a great day because God has given us the resources needed to step ahead with confidence along the path.

Lord, Your Word is flawless and as we read each day and have a time of prayer, we have confidence because we trust Your Word. We are growing in faith and the principles taught by Christ will help us meet adversity, put things into perspective, and lead us along the path to where we need to be.
