Special Purpose

We all want to matter or fulfill some purpose. What do you call an elephant that doesn’t matter? Irrelephant!* This day with God as we read Job 25-26, we set out to be totally focused on the purpose of this journey with organization, documentation, and affirmation.

The emphasis of Bildad’s third speech is that God has made everything and has dominion. Humans will never be more righteous than their Maker or have any power whatsoever without God’s plan.

Job responds that God has used His power to create the skies and suspends the earth over nothing (26:7). He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness (26:10). By His power, He churned up the sea and by His breath the skies became fair (26:12-13).

The question for us is how are we involved in the greatness and power of God? He has made us for a special purpose. If we are good stewards of what He has given; care about people and encourage them, we become a participant in making His power available.

This day with You Lord, there is a special purpose You have for each of us. Help us each to find it and rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to carry this purpose out. We believe that this special purpose will make an impact because we are a participant in making Your greatness and power available to more people each day. Amen.
