Be Amazed and Inspired

Those who do not believe say how can there be a God when there is so much pain and suffering. Like anything in life, it takes work, study, and patience to understand. Many times we can see God at work in His people as we listen to others, read books, listen to music, or receive inspiration from art.

This day with God, let us go to Him in prayer and listen as He guides. A life with God helps in being more organized and having priorities so that a plan is put in place which when set in motion leads to accomplishment.

Prayer is a constant in going the right way and thoughts of reaching the destination provide continuous inspiration. Let this video inspire you to an amazing day with Him: I Am – Mark Schultz.

I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. – John 17:4

Worship Him Only

Solomon finished praying and as recorded in 2 Chronicles 7, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple (V. 1). They knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord (V. 3). They offered sacrifices before the Lord (V. 4).

The ceremonies and feasting for the dedication of the temple lasted for fourteen days and as the people went home, they were joyful and glad in their heart for the good things the Lord had done. There was a promise from God to hear their prayers if they walked by his commandments and worship Him only.

God speaks in many ways but most of all through the Bible. We get faith-based principles of how we should live from the Bible; life lessons we can internalize to help live an effective life. Through prayer, we can follow God’s leadership and receive the help needed to become a better person. Each day, we repeat good thoughts and take action until good habits become automatic.

A life with God helps an individual to be organized and have priorities so that a plan is put in place to guide every step. The plan is put in motion for accomplishment, prayer is a constant in going the right way, and thoughts of reaching the destination provide continuous inspiration.

This day with God, let us be amazed and inspired to be the best we can be; have the desire to please Him, hope for mercy, and follow His instructions.

Living the Right Way

The lessons learned from my reading of 2 Chronicles 6 are about character, honesty, and decency. We are given many examples throughout the Bible of great characters to follow in order to live the right way and to fulfill our promises made to others.

Desire to be the best you can by being honest with yourself. Want to know where you fall short and what needs to be done to improve. Develop a few good habits and continue to add others.

A few good habits might include reading, reflecting, or listening to music with the purpose of determining a value it brings. One idea is to discuss these values with others. Here’s a song that teaches about accountability: Search Me, Lord – Gaither Vocal Band.

In my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever. – Psalms 41:12

First Order of Business is Prayer

After the temple was built, the first order of business was prayer. Solomon’s main request in 2 Chronicles 6 is for God to hear their prayers of repentance and forgiveness. Solomon knew what God had promised and in prayer ask that it come to fruition; that they would learn, receive protection, and that their prayers would be heard.

After Solomon’s prayer, fire came down from heaven and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.  The people responded in worship and in giving thanks. This should be our response when we are aware of God’s presence. Today, our hearts are His resting-place. Christ dwells in us by faith and we are set apart as God’s temple where we can meet each day and listen for His voice in the quiet.

We can ask these questions: God do I limit your power in my life by trying to hide my weaknesses? What do I need to be honest about in order to receive your power? Is there something I can share that will provide a good lesson for those that follow in my path?

There is Never a Day We Should Not Pray

Give us this day our daily bread
And bless those O Lord whom have not yet been fed
I thank God for my food and I can honestly say
There is never a day that we should not pray

If not for ourselves there are plenty in need
Of hope and compassion it’s their hearts we must feed
The light of God can show us the way
There is never a day that we should not pray

He gave us his son who taught us to share
To love and forgive, he taught us to care
For he died on the cross and for our sins he did pay
There is never a day that we should not pray

Don’t Forget the Go

Yesterday’s message at the church I worship at was titled “Don’t Forget the Go”.  At this link: Pastor’s Podcast, you can see/listen to each message. The podcast can be used for Bible study material or small group discussion. Here is a link to the outline of the message: “Don’t Forget the Go”. Below are some key points I took away from the message.

With Christ, there is courage because we are not alone. Peter and John were ordinary men. They were not well schooled yet because of Christ everything was possible. Wherever we are right now, we can start going with courage to reach new heights because of Christ.

Peter and John were filled with the Holy Spirit and amazing things happened as they helped those in need. God wants great things for us and it happens when we go with the Spirit. There is something different in those who go with the Spirit because there is a passion that keeps getting stronger.

There is boldness when we go in Jesus name; when we pray for His power to lead us in unfamiliar territory and accomplish significant results.  Here’s a video to inspire as we set out on our walk this day with God: Help Me Find It – Sidewalk Prophets.

So you must be brave. Don’t give up! God will honor you for obeying him. – 2 Chronicles 15:7
