Moving in the right direction

God demonstrated past greatness as recorded in the Bible, He knows the future, and with Him we have the law of Christ written in our heart. A bright future with God is guaranteed so we can confidently act fast and move in the right direction.

Reading Isaiah 43:14 through 44:23 God says he will bring ultimate victory over their enemies. Thinking of the great sports teams, why do certain teams dominate over their opposition? They usually have this new thing that other teams just can’t seem to handle.

Tom Landry, the great coach of the Dallas Cowboys football team from 1960-1988 was the inventor of flex defense. A very complex defense in which all the gaps were covered, and the middle linebacker was free to make the tackle. That’s what the Christian life is. The Holy Spirit tells us where to go to cover the gaps while our God is freed up to tackle the enemy.

When we read the book of Truth, we can pray and develop a game plan each day with God. There is confidence because we know that we will do the right things. The word of God gives instructions that are timeless for our hearts and lives. We will keep on track with the “Play Book” that will lead us to the goal line.

Israel’s past had been one of inconsistencies. They would go to God during difficulty but then worship idols during good times. Idols provide nothing … they know nothing, understand nothing, and give no hope. Israel’s only hope for the future was to worship the ONE true God and not idols.

The lesson for us is to forget the old way for there is a new way God has provided. Throughout our journey, we can gain lessons from the Word of God and from each other. This day with God, we have the perfect example in Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Thank You Lord for giving us the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Your plan is flawless and trustworthy to get us where we want to go. Your Word guides us to step ahead along the Way and we know You will tackle the enemy. We may face adversity, but You are with us to take on the challenges and persevere towards peace and joy. We continue to learn Your Way and give You praise. Amen.

Help Others See the Light

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. – Ephesians 4:32

Shared in “Can People Can See God Reflected In Me” is that everyone faces difficulties and those going through difficulties need to know there are others that care. Think of an act of kindness to make things just a little better for those going through difficult days. Encourage them with the truth of God’s promise for better tomorrows.

Take inspiration from the song I Saw The Light by David Crowder today. Like a blind man that has lost his sight, I once could not see. Praise the Lord I saw the Light and can now be all God made me to be so, there is no more darkness … no more night.

Can People See God Reflected In Me

Questions for Reflection

What is the difference between the situation of the people in 42:25 and 43:2? What knowledge of the kindness and salvation of God is bottled up, silent, inside you? Why? How can you open up this knowledge of the kindness and salvation of God, so others are willing to receive?

Scripture Passage

Isaiah 42:18 through 43:13

Reading the passage today and reflecting on the questions for reflection, the people of Israel were in bondage in Babylon. They were in a situation of being robbed, trapped, and targeted because they had been deaf and blind (42:18-20).

We can be deaf and blind too. The knowledge of the kindness and salvation of God can be bottled up and silent inside us. The Good News is that the humble servant or Jesus Christ helps us see.

Jesus is the word in the flesh who gives us an example to help us see. We can also point this out to others to help them see who God is and what He has done and will do in the future. On top of that, people can see God reflected in us.

Everyone faces difficulties and those going through difficulties need to know there are others who care. Think of an act of kindness to make things just a little better for those going through difficult days. Encourage them with the truth of God’s promise for better tomorrows.

Meeting with other believers who walk in truth is so important. I remember when I got out of college, moved to Waco, and was looking to make friends with good people that would help me grow in my faith, so I started going to a local church. I met a group of friends, and we would get together every Sunday morning and on Thursday evenings.

We would pray for each other. I remember one time when we organized a prayer chain. We each wrote up a concern or need on a note card and put all the cards at the altar in the prayer chapel at our church. We each signed up for a time slot so that at least one person was praying at that chapel throughout the weekend. We could review the cards and pray about the needs or concerns for about thirty minutes.

This day, we have opened God’s Word and tried to answer the questions for reflection. His Word along with the Holy Spirit directs us toward better tomorrows. Do great works through us God and empower us to encourage others through our writing. It is a great purpose to grow in faith together, build each other up, and pray for each other. We are thankful for technology so we can share at anytime and anywhere. May we be compassionate and kind as we keep Christ in mind. Amen.

Thought From Devotional 03-28-3035

A thought from John 19:17-30 is that Jesus lived a life of unwavering dedication to the divine plan outlined in the Scriptures, fulfilling every detail with profound faithfulness. Even in the face of immense pressure and unimaginable suffering, He exhibited remarkable composure and grace, willingly offering Himself as the ultimate sacrifice. His selfless act of love bore the weight of humanity’s sin, bridging the chasm between us and God. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus provided the way for redemption, paying the debt we could never settle on our own. It is a testament to His boundless love and obedience to God’s perfect will.

Reward is with the Lord

Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. – Revelation 22:12

The big takeaway from “The Truth” is that the prophecy was fulfilled in Christ and the reward is with Him. This truth provides the victory and a champion for God consistently applies the essentials which God provides for a successful life.

As the song No One Like Our God by Lincoln Brewster gives us questions like “Who set the sky upon the hills and told the waters to be still”, we have questions and no one can answer like our God.
