A Prayer for Families

Pray for families to help each other be at their best – helping with chores, planning together, encouraging each other, and having fun together. Praise God for providing for needs; for food, shelter, and support of each other. Each evening, let us thank God and pray for His guidance for the future so we can help others be at their best and set out to follow Him. Make it a habit to pray before eating meals and ask that God plants inspiring thoughts into each other’s heart; finding ways to pass on to others thoughts, ideas and inspiration for a brighter future.

Here is an old song and video to inspire us today. It’s about the need to take care of each other; parents providing a bright future for their children and children to look after their aging parents: Teach Your Children – Crosby Stills Nash and Young.

They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship to the breaking of bread and to prayer. – Acts 2:42

Free At Last

God gave instruction for the first Passover in Exodus 12:21 through 13:1-16. Moses and Aaron communicated these instructions to the Israelites and they responded by following just as commanded. Then they bowed down and worshiped (v. 27).

At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt but the Israelites followed the instructions for the Passover sacrifice to the Lord so the firstborn in each house with blood on the sides and tops of the doorframes were spared.

Pharaoh then told Moses and Aaron to leave with the Israelite people along with their flocks and herds. They had been in the land of slavery for 430 years and now were free.

This day with You Lord, we are thankful that by responding to You Father, we are also set free. We are free from the bondage of sin by accepting the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Lord this day, help us to be disciplined in putting You first so that in everything we do, we glorify You. In Jesus name. Amen.

Inspire Big Smiles

Studying in Genesis 50, Joseph never considered taking revenge on his brothers or those who placed him in prison. He didn’t hold a grudge but was kind; He was respectful and this influenced those around him. The Lord gave him great success in whatever he did. This day, let us do the same by being respectful, being kind, and blessing others with a big smile. In turn, this may inspire big smiles to be passed around the world on this beautiful Sunday.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

Life can throw us for a loop
But we can always recoup
If we know that everyday
We are going the right way.

Lifting up with gentleness
And setting a precedence.
Supporting with kindness
To handle any crisis.

Influencing others
All sisters and brothers
Telling the kin
To hold up their chin.

Forgiving others for the hurt
By not getting in the dirt
But letting go of the past
And staying steadfast.

The past we did face
Has been handled with grace
So go the extra mile
And offer a big smile.

Acceptance

The fourth message in the new sermon series titled “Never-Never Land” was presented last weekend at the church I worship at. The title of the sermon was “Never Exclude”. Here is a link to the Sermon Podcast.

There is no such thing as “us” versus “them” within a church. The church is a place where everybody is welcome because God loves everybody. Jesus came to provide the Spirit which binds together all that believe in Him.

To see the Podcast live around 9:30 each Sunday morning, just click on the button titled live on the right side. Also, you can watch past worship services at any time or place thereafter by clicking the button next to the title of each sermon, clicking on video, and then starting the video that appears.

Life will never be Diminished because of the Lamb without Blemish

The post Blood of the Lamb explains the Passover celebration that has been handed down from generation to generation. Traditions help us remember what the Lord has done for us and give us confidence for the future. While praying today, make a mental list of the things God had done and give thanks. Here is today’s video blessing: My Savior My God – Aaron Shust.

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. – 1 Peter 1:18-19
