Destiny

Many times, all it take is having the courage to dream and accepting the help God gives in the Holy Spirit to meet our destiny. Have a wonderful weekend as you dream big my friends!

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

To plan, to think;
To give it some thought
And always delivering
Our very best shot.

It takes courage
To handle the test
And take action
Towards our best.

But we have a Helper
In the Holy Spirit
Giving confidence
To go after it.

Once we all start
Momentum develops
Keeping us going toward
Something to relish.

Improving upon weaknesses
By facing them at all lengths.
Never being embarrassed
As we build on our strengths.

Knowing what needs to improve
And using this information
As a tool to steer all
Towards the destination.

Acknowledge Greatness

Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. – Hosea 6:3

Technology has been developed so that we can communicate with each other on the other side of the world but at the same time, humanity can be a fool in not acknowledging God’s part in making the world amazing. Such was the case when I shared in the post “Evidence of His Existence”.

When God is present, we have purpose, teamwork, and integrity. Without a focus on God, there is corruption and failure. This day with God, let us see Him around us and acknowledge His greatness. As we go throughout the day, let us give thanks.

Thankful for Evidence of His Existence

As the psalmist explains in Psalm 14, only a fool would refuse to pay attention to the evidence of God’s existence and not live by His truths. It’s hard to understand how a person seeing a brilliant sunrise or sunset does not believe in God. It’s hard to understand someone bathing in the warm sunshine or seeing a thunderstorm or seeing a beautiful rainbow painted in the sky not believing in God and being thankful.

But we know of atheist today that want to tell us that God’s not real. It’s not worth our time to pray and have Him in our thoughts. A world with “no knowledge” of God would not exist for long for it would soon come to its demise because of the corruption and dread.

This day with You Lord, we want to be the people that You restore on a daily basis. There may be rough days when we have doubts because of the growing immorality but there is hope because of You. We give thanks today because with You, we have purpose, we work together, and there is integrity. In Jesus name. Amen.

Trusting in the One True

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. – Psalm 20:7

The world has a way of making us feel that we are not quite good enough. We may feel that we are not quite skilled enough or that we just don’t catch on to a new concept. If thoughts like these come to mind, remember that with God there is no need to get stressed out. He’s big enough to make up the difference and provide the extra needed to finish each day a step ahead.

Trust in the ONE true
He will always keep you
And always provide for you

Obey and Pray

a-prayer-for-youDavid was very exhausted and depressed as he wrote Psalm 13. In the first two verses of this Psalm, David is questioned God about how long he would have to go through his depressed thoughts and feelings. But as we analyze verses 5-6, we see a turn around because of David’s trust in the Lord.

Life for each of us today has its struggles but just like David, we know who we can go to for help. There is knowledge to be gained and we can trust that He has available what is needed. During difficulty, we can pray for His help, wait patiently, and rely on His Word for encouragement.

Like in today’s passage, we can become exhausted and depressed because of the enemies we face in this world. We face challenges on a daily basis with deadlines that have to be met, with bills that have to be paid, with workloads that are bigger than our capacity.

We strive to work together as workers and compete with other companies. Some neighborhoods have to contend with criminals who set them back when the neighborhood becomes riddled with crime. Neighbors in affluent neighborhoods all try to measure up to each other. They try to “keep up with the Joneses” with no purpose or joy in life.

Lord, as we come to You today in prayer, we trust in You to help us step ahead. As we take in Your Word, we are fortified and remain optimistic because we know that we are highly favored. We are never 100% prepared for anything in life but we just step ahead with confidence because we know that You will pull us through and for this we are grateful. Amen.
