Infinite Power

This day with God, have faith because the Spirit of His Son in your heart has touched you with His divine power.

Mark Shields's avatarStep Ahead

Get Free from things like fear,
weakness, and doubt.
The past may have been bad;
a nightmare bomb out.

The present may be dark
With hard times looming
but the future is bright;
everything booming.

Because of the reward
God has for all
Who believe in His Son
And stop the fall.

By accepting Christ,
things only get better.
Freed from restraint,
No longer a debtor.

The past washed away,
the future brighter
each and every day
with infinite power.

Cheerful Giver

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. – 2 Corinthians 9:7

As pointed out in the post “Moved by the Spirit to Give”, you can satisfy that craving deep down inside by being a cheerful giver; feeding your soul by giving your skills, your time, and your resources. So enthusiastically give from your heart for the needs of others and the Spirit of the Lord.

The song When Love Sees You by Mac Powell is about stories of giving. In the Bible, we learn about the blind beggar that is blessed by the healing power of Christ, the widow that gave all she had as an offering, and Mary who washed the feet of Jesus.

These are just a few of the inspiring stories found in the Bible. This day with God, share your story of giving or receiving and be inspired by the ultimate gift which is Christ who died on the Cross for you and me.

Moved By the Spirit to Give

Explained in Exodus 35 are the reasons for the Sabbath. For six days, God’s people should work but the seventh day should be a day of rest. There should be no work but worship on the Sabbath; a day to be moved by the Spirit to give our time, our skills, and our resources.

Indications of the right motivation for our offerings are when we joyfully give of our hearts as we are moved by the Spirit of the Lord. Think of what motivates you to give. Is it from your heart as you enthusiastically give to the needs of others from the Spirit of the Lord!

Serving for a good cause or as a volunteer may require some sacrifice but you feel much better after you have blessed others by being the hands and feet of God. Think of exercise. The hardest part is to just get going. Once you get going, it gets easier and you always feel better once it is done. The greatest feeling in the world is making a difference in the world in which you live.

Lord this day, what we make happen for others will come back to us as a blessing because it satisfies the cravings we all have deep down inside. Lord this day, feed our soul with uplifting thoughts or ideas in how we can offer more of our skills, our time, and our resources for Your glory. Amen.

Indescribable and Uncontainable

Jesus replied, ‘What is impossible with men is possible with God. – Luke 18:27

The main point for me as brought out in the post, “Seeing and Believing” is that we should be ready to meet God for direction each day just like Moses did when he went up on Mount Sinai for we serve an amazing all powerful God who is indescribable and uncontainable.

Our prayers will be heard as we are connected by accepting our Savior. One small step changes everything and our first step of accepting Jesus gives us a tremendous resource in the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit will guide us to an amazing journey as we step ahead fearlessly. Amazing things will happen because the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life will lift us to new heights.

Each day can be amazing because with the Lord, you can passionately believe in what you are doing, let nothing hold you up in your work and have faith that one day at a time the impossible will become possible. Watch the video Indescribable by Chris Tomlin to inspire you this day with God.

Seeing is Believing

Moses was told by God as explained in Exodus 34  to chisel out two stone tablets and prepare to come up to Mount Sinai. Moses’ immediate reaction was to do as God instructed so he chiseled out two stone tablets and went up on Mount Sinai early in the morning (v. 4).

The attitude of Moses before the Lord this second time on the mountain was one of humility because he now understood how disrespectful the people had been toward the Lord upon his first return from the mountain when he found them worshipping the golden calf. Since Moses was humble before the Lord, a covenant was made.

There would be terms to the covenant. They would need to obey the Lord’s commands, worship the One True God, and not worship idols. They would need to keep the Sabbath as a day to worship; to rest the mind and body. The Lord would require the people to fulfill their duties.

Illustrated to us in this passage is the character of God which is compassionate and gracious; slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness (v. 6). The covenant God made would allow the people to witness what seemed impossible becoming possible so the people would see and believe.

When Moses returned from the mountain with the Ten Commandments this second time, the people were not worshiping a golden calf or any other idol. The face of Moses radiated with the glory of God and the people respected Moses as their leader.

As we go about our daily activities, we should also be prepared to meet God for instructions in how to live. When we spend time with God, it will show in our face just like it did with Moses. People will be aware and want what we have.

This day with You Lord, we meet with You again for instructions just like Moses did. We are ready to carry out your approved plans today. We are confident in your plans and can dream big for a bright future. By trusting and obeying, we will see your great wonders and believe that the future possibilities are unlimited. Amen.
