A poem posted at my other blog Step Ahead is inspired by the post “Combined Strength of the Whole”. The thought is that together each individual provides something to the cause. The Holy Spirt provides a means to work together as ONE in Christ and the application of our faith then becomes combined excellence for God’s glory.
The journey can be a struggle but if we fall, we can be picked up by another. Take inspiration from the song Together by King & Country which points out that we are bound by the triple-braided cord of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirt. We stand together bolder, braver, and stronger.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. – 2 Corinthians 8:9
A thought from “The Place of Grace” is that the currency of the Kingdom of God is grace. He’s an awesome King over all the nations of the world. He protects, knows what is best for us, and gives us the Holy Spirit to reign in our hearts. He’s interested not only in our future but the future of generation to come so that the road to success continues.
We celebrate today with the song O Praise Him by David Crowder Band. Praise the Lord for being our King. It is to Him we sing and embrace the place where the currency is grace.
Over a high vista
As we look out.
The beauty of Creation
Makes us shout.
In reading Psalm 47, God is shown to be king over all the earth. Can you imagine God as king over all the nations? Beyond that, think about a world in which He reigns in each individual’s heart as their gifts are used for His glory. If each individual would respond to God by using their gifts and applying their faith, the nations under Him would have a bright future because they would be going the way that leads to success.
The nations under God would be protected, prosperous, and would be provided for not only in the current generation but in future generations too. The Holy Spirit would guide and all decisions would be easy. The people would worship the ONE true God and the world would be a peaceful place. A place in which grace is the currency of the kingdom. Where the flow of grace from the Lord Jesus Christ is rewarding each individual with riches beyond what can be imagined.
That place of grace is within reach for all and to celebrate the victory that Christ brings, there are songs of praise that can keep the momentum going. If you can think of a song of praise, respond in the comments below so that many are blessed.
In this world, there are places that we don’t want to go. Many in this world have been to the valley of death where there are drugs, alcohol, pain, and much despair. This day with You Lord, we praise You for the place of grace in which we are rewarded beyond our imagination. We are reminded of the victory Christ brings to this new kingdom and because grace is the currency of this new place, we have momentum for many more victories down the road as we step ahead in faith. Amen.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28
What resonated with me in reading Psalm 46 and writing thoughts in “His Mighty Arms Protect From Harm” is that things in this world can shake us up and fear can hold us back but we can walk through any fire with godspeed and not get burned. Our trust in God is a big plus!
God is with us so we have poise under pressure. We can let go, hand the crisis over, and know that He will do the work to get us through. As the song We Won’t Be Shaken by Building 429 points out, the future is never clear but we are never alone so never ever fear. Our trust in God is a big plus and we will not be shaken for God is with us.
The photo is the Brazos River near Waco Texas. Brazos is Spanish for “arms”, short for “Los Brazos de Dios” or “the arms of God.” This day with God, let us take courage as we step ahead with boldness because everything will turn out alright with God by our side. Each day, we rely on the Word as our guide and today we are reading Psalm 46, writing down our next steps of action, and using poems or songs to encourage.
God is described in this psalm of praise as being strong and of being a helper through trouble. His mighty arms would protect from what harms to deliver the people of Jerusalem from their enemies. They could trust God to both protect and fight for them knowing that He was in control and His River of grace would keep flowing to bring peace to them.
Things in this world can shake us up. Storms, earthquakes, fire, and war among other things. Fear can hold us back but knowing God is with us brings courage so we can step ahead through our difficulties with confidence because there is poise to face any situation.
The next time a crisis hits, remember that God wants to be our refuge and strength. We can pass through the fire with Godspeed and not get burned. This day with God, we can let go, hand the crisis over, and let Him do the work to get us through (vv. 10-11).
This Day with You Lord, we study Your Word and pray knowing that You are with us to help us through any crisis. We have poise to handle any situation. Even death has no sting because of the victory You bring. We share about this Good News to encourage during fear so we have the poise to step ahead through any fire. Amen.
