Taking Action

The flowing stream photo was taken at Garvan Woodland Gardens near Hot Springs Arkansas. As we read today in 1 Kings 8:54-66, may God’s Word flow into our hearts. Then as they form a part of who we are, may they naturally flow outward as we take action on activities that benefit our life and the lives of those around us.

God had a plan for His people when He brought them out of Egypt. He also has designed a specific life plan for us to set us free. This day with God, let us be dedicated to applying our faith, letting the Spirit work in us, and accept Divine assistance as we take action on the plan.

It’s important to hold onto our dreams! I heard one time this story told in the late 1800s of a minister who was skeptical when someone asked if man would someday fly. He had two sons … Orville and Wilbur.

In another story I heard, there was a boy who lacked the funds to attend college. Instead, the boy worked at a shop and wrote in his spare time. The boy’s first name was William … last name Shakespeare.

It all begins with a dream so dream with God and then create something just like Solomon did in building the temple. Today, we read that they dedicated the house of God with offerings to the Lord. Celebrating with a festival for 14 days. At the end of the celebration, they blessed the king. As the people left to go home, they were joyful and thankful for all the good things God had done.

It is important to always dream big. God can take these dreams and help not only achieve them but along the way, make others dream big too. In so doing, provided are more opportunities for all people to flourish. After our imagination is set free and God takes our dreams to a level never thought of before, be joyful and thankful just like the people in today’s reading.

This day Lord, it’s a glorious new morn that is dawning and now we prepare our hearts and minds to follow Your plan. We worship and praise You today for the dreams You give. We encourage others to dream so the future is one in which there are cures for diseases and inventions that help Your people to flourish. That there are great ideas for winning more souls to Your Way. We build on our experiences of the past and now step ahead on the pathway to our future.

He Provides Breakthroughs

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. –  Jeremiah 29:11

God provides hope in difficulty. It may begin with an inspirational song, a good memory, a walk along a road surrounded with trees as the wind plays a mellow tune across space and time that brings an idea or thought with hope of a breakthrough in your life.

In “Put Your Hope in God”, Solomon prays not only for himself, but the people of Israel. In the same way, we should pray for our family, our friends, and associates. Some may face issues that are difficult. They may be running on empty and that’s when hope fuels their future. There is the expectation of God’s goodness and providential care.

Keep praying and praising even in the difficulty because the God of possible gives us promises that are the beginning of hope and shape the future. Be inspired by the song In Jesus Name (God of Possible) by Katy Nichole. Pray for breakthroughs in your life and in the life of those you know.

Put Your Hope In God

This day with God will be amazing because we can examine our hopes and dreams and let God take them to a level that we never dreamed of. Reading today in 1 Kings 8:22-53, the characteristics of God described in Solomon’s prayer are a God of keeping promises. A God that hears our prayers, who loves us, and is forgiving.

Today’s passage points out that it is necessary to admit mistakes and ask for forgiveness in order to enter into His presence. Today, we know that by accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, we have access to the Holy Spirit for guidance and direction.

Solomon prayed not only for himself, but the people of Israel. In the same way, we should pray for our family, our friends, and associates. We need to keep in mind that our world presents many issues that are difficult to solve. But this day, we maintain hope because out of the blue and unexpectedly, a solution may come.

Keep praying and praising even in the storms because God’s promises are the beginning of hope that will shape the future. By putting our hope in God, every day will be amazing. God will take our hopes and dreams to a higher level beyond what could be imagined.

Lord … sometimes we feel that we are running on empty. We need hope that only You can provide. We face problems and issues that seem impossible to solve but You are God of possible. The fuel of hope pushes us to step ahead towards a new solution and we keep praying and praising with a hope that shapes our future. Amen.

Poetry Friday 06-16-2023

A poem posted at my other blog Step Ahead is inspired by the “Climbing Higher” which emphasizes the need to spend our time on activities that provide a heart of wisdom. The value of these activities will rise over time as commodities that will be useful forever; providing a living hope and a valuable resource forever.

A great song that also emphasizes spending time on activities that build a heart of wisdom is Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman. It’s a song about making the wise choice of appreciating each moment with a daughter before they grow up.
