This day with God, we are reading 1 Peter 2:11-17 for instructions in lining up our life plan with what He has laid out so we can be people of great usefulness for His purpose. The motive for good personal and public behavior is that it gives integrity to what we profess. People begin to see something different in us and want to have what we have. We then clear the path so others desire to step ahead along the path God has set.
Fear, despair, and hate are within this world and they war against our soul. They lead us to negative behaviors that affect our relationships, our financial positions, and our physical wellbeing. Things get worse as people overspend, overeat, and take in even more negatives of this world to temporarily handle the pain they cause.
Governments are allowed to step in thinking they will make things better. Promises are made to get elected but the people are controlled with regulation, censorship, or suppression. It doesn’t take long before there is no hope in the pursuit of happiness as liberty and justice for all is a thing of the past.
To make a change for the better, this passage offers a suggestion. Begin to take an honest look at ourselves and seek a different path by surrendering to the Lord so He reigns in our life. To take in the Word so it makes an impact on our lives and others will desire what we have. It will then make an impact on their live in a positive way.
This day with You Lord, You have given us the Holy Spirit, grace, and the power to step ahead towards Your high standards. Help us to grow each day as we study Your Word and apply it to our life so we are Your people of integrity. Others will see what You have given us and want to have what we have. The path will be clear for others to step ahead. Amen.
Thanks for the morning insight and encouragement. Love this: “Begin to take an honest look at ourselves and seek a different path by surrendering to the Lord so He reigns in our life.”
Jesus know the way forward. It is all about following him.
Blessings for a stunning day in paradise.
