Application:  What lesson has been learned or what are some plans of action I can take?

Not all Christians are the same but because they all have one common Father, One Spirit, and believe Christ is the Son of God, they can rejoice and grief together. Pray for unity among Christians. Be thankful that Christ took the form of a servant and emptied himself for the purchase of our salvation.

What seems to be the aim of Paul’s ministry? What is Paul urging the Philippians to do in verses 27-30?

Food For thought:

Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened. – Billy Graham

Application:  What lesson has been learned or what are some plans of action I can take?

Paul’s purpose in life became to know, to love, and to follow Christ. He was willing to live for Christ on earth or with him in heaven. In prayer, be thankful for this courage Paul demonstrated; may it inspire all Christians to take a stand, do the right things, and live with integrity.

Paul was able to find some good even as he wrote in prison. Think back to some difficult time in your life that actually turned out to be a positive. As you pray today, be thankful that followers of Christ are always able to look to the future with optimism.

List the qualities Paul prays for in the Philippians. Can you list three people that you will pray for like this over the next two weeks? How do you think you and they will be changed?

Food For Thought:

Keep the principles found in the word of God in your thoughts. Plant seeds of faith, hope, and love yielding fruit that nourishes others. God will give you the upper hand by producing in you the heart of a champion.

Application: What lesson has been learned or what are some plans of action to take?

The things which most honor God will most benefit us. Pray for three people you know for the next two weeks. Pray that they will honor God with their words and works. After two weeks, check to see if you and they have received beneficial change.
