This day with God, let us share ideas about how best to build up our faith. We will continue the journey through the Bible over the next few weeks in order to share thoughts or ideas. Each posts will be designed to help apply our faith in the work place, at school, or at home. As the journey continues, there are questions for reflection at https://thisdaywithgod.com/readings/ which will help focus some thoughts to share in posts as we begin the journey through the book of Deuteronomy.
I would like take this time to thank you for reading and liking the posts. This blog started from a small group several years ago with just a few followers and now has grown to over 2,020 followers. I’ve found it to be a great tool in my journey through the Bible and you, my readers are holding me accountable to daily Bible reading and study.
We live in a busy world with busy schedules and being able to share some thoughts about this journey with others across this world through the Internet is truly a blessing. Questions for Reflection will stimulate thought and offer ideas for applying biblical principles at work, at home, and in all we do.

Also, the concepts presented in God’s Perfect Timing offer ideas for using our time wisely and the lessons of God’s Plan for Us gives a method towards making an impact in the world in which we live.
The reading plan below will be used to hold me accountable to sharing about God’s word. As I share about my study of the book of Deuteronomy over the next few weeks, it’s important to have a plan. I’m thankful that Jesus is God’s plan for us and by accepting Christ as Savior; we have taken the steps necessary to make this day amazing!
Questions for Reflection
Deuteronomy 1-2 – What is the history as Israel stands on the threshold of a new land and new life? Who will have authority after Moses dies (1:9-18, 38)? How would the information in chapter 2 give renewed confidence to the Israelites? How does God use experiences to build your confidence?
Deuteronomy 3 – What can you learn about prayer from Moses’ prayer? What do you think are Moses’ feelings as he sees the Promised Land? What are Moses’ final duties?
Deuteronomy 4 – What important principles and themes are affirmed here? What is the covenant? What are the consequences of Israel’s obedience and disobedience to this covenant?
Deuteronomy 5 – In what ways do the Ten Commandments (see Ex. 20) place all of life under God’s claim (Relate v. 6 and the commandments)? Why is there added meaning to the commandment about the Sabbath? What is Moses’s role in Israel’s life?
Deuteronomy 6 – What do you learn about the character of God from this passage? How can you follow the commands of verses 4-9 today? What significance does Israel’s redemption from Egypt have in this chapter? What can you do to remember God is with you always?
Deuteronomy 7 – What is the relationship like between God and the Israelites? What will God do for the Israelites? What is God’s response to those who love Him?
Feel free to respond with a short note or a comment about any of the questions above. Also, I welcome any other thoughts or ideas, favorite inspirational videos, photos, or favorite Bible verses. Just add them to the comments or to a Facebook page I’ve set up at this link: This Day With God.

Your words have supported those who stumbled: You have strengthened faltering knees. – Job 4:4
The post “Impact the World for the Better” put emphasis on thinking of ways to help cut out what is bad and let in what is good. You have the opportunity to be the salt of the earth to preserve the faith and add flavor so it is sought after.
If you stumble, be humble. Pick yourself up and like the song Humble and Kind by Tim McGraw, go the extra mile to step ahead. As the song says, grow in faith, visit grandpa and grandma, say please and thank you. Don’t steal or cheat but let dreams come to you and work hard so they are realized.
This day with God, stay humble and kind with Christ in mind.
This day with God will be amazing as we are humble and kind always keeping Christ in mind. We will learn more from guiding principles found in Mark 9:42-50. What we make happen for others will be returned so today let us give a smile and a smile will be given back. Let us act kind and receive kindness back from others.
We live in a world in which there exist cruelty and hate. Let us not influence others toward these but cut off what makes people have these thoughts and actions. We are the salt of the earth to season God’s words for others so they are flavorful to the soul. Like salt making food taste savory, we can be seasoned with kindness and at peace with others.
Let us think of ways to help cut out what is bad and let in what is good. We have the opportunity to be the salt of the earth to preserve the faith and add flavor to faith so it is good for the soul. Reading the Good News, accepting Christ as Savior, and being transformed into His likeness is all we need.
The power of faith is magnified when we accept in good thoughts, good media, and good food for the soul but block out the bad. In this way, we take this goodness in so that the unseen internal qualities of our soul becomes beautiful.
The photo below was taken at Hampton Court in England which is a royal palace near London. When we feed our inner garden with goodness, the results are humble acts of kindness that impact others.
This day with You Lord, help us be the salt of the earth by taking in the lessons of Your word in order to nourish the garden of our soul. As we produce something of beauty and adoration, may it provide those around us with inspiration! Amen.
