A poem posted at my other blog Step Ahead is inspired by the post Refreshed Strength. We all have heard about Samson’s physical strength but what is most astonishing is the strength he received from the Spirit of the Lord and that same spiritual power is available to us.
There are a lot of things in life we regret but each day is a new day so we can forget. We can forget the past without a trace. We can accept Christ as Savior and receive grace. Live victoriously today with songs like Same Power by Jeremy Camp. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave, lives in us. This power conquers the enemy as we continue to step ahead.
I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” – Rev 1:8
As pointed out in “Direction and Protection”, God provides the Way we should go along with security as we walk in faith.
As surely as smoke can be blown away by wind or wax melt near fire, we can be assured of God and that He has a part to play in good things coming our way. Advantages are given to those with faith but the skeptic will be hampered.
Celebrate today the victory that Jesus brings with the song The Way by Jeremy Camp. Like the lyrics go, God’s glory shines around us because of the King of kings … the great I AM.
A take away from Psalm 68:1-18 is that God’s divine design provides direction and protection as we walk in faith. As surely as smoke can be blown away by wind or wax melt near fire, we can be assured of God and that He has a part to play in good things coming our way. Advantages are given to those with faith but the skeptic will be hampered.
The probable occasion for this psalm is recorded in 2 Samuel 6:2-18 when David had some men bring the ark of God from Judah to Jerusalem. Precaution was then taken as they transported the arc of God. They took a few steps ahead and then would offer sacrifices. Much like in a parade, David expressed his zeal along the route by leaping and dancing as the arc was transported (2 Samuel 6:15).
Let us thank God in anticipation of His goodness in providing direction and protection for we can celebrate each day because Jesus provides the Way. The Light shines bright along the path and the Holy Spirit guides us to reach our destination.
This day with You Lord, we are convinced that You can do all things. Your plan of Jesus being sacrificed on the cross imparts righteousness into each of us. Because of the direction we get from Your Word and the protection You provide, we have great advantages but those without faith are hampered. Your Divine design brings victory to our future because You are on our side fighting our battles. Amen.
His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not. –Jeremiah 20:9
The aim for you as a follower of Christ is to always grow and never remain the same but to always be changed because the Spirit is aflame.
The main thought within “Call to Praise” is to look back on the past and remember the good things God has done. This gives enthusiasm going forward. It attracts others to walk by faith, put their hope in God, and accept God’s mercy through the loving gift of His son.
God gives us purpose and meaning so we can trust in His leading. Take inspiration from the song He Is With Us by Love & The Outcome. Sometimes it may seem as though there is an ocean in between but He is with us and we can always trust.
The stimulus for the call to praise in Psalm 66-67, is looking back at the past and what good things God has done so this gives enthusiasm going forward. Let us all be encouraged today as a child of God and live with enthusiasm. Live each day knowing He is with us always and knowing the future with God will be beyond what could be imagined.
God is related to Israel’s history since the beginning as He brought the Israelites out of slavery from Egypt. He parted the Red Sea so Moses and the people could escape to a land flowing with milk and honey where there would be peace and prosperity.
Other nations would witness what God had done for Israel and know that God would do it for them too if they would be a nation under Him. This day with God, let us consider God’s nature and review His activity in the world with the hope that this would inspire enthusiasm towards a future of following His way.
By reflecting on the joys of the past, we can get excited for what is to come about and be thankful for the path laid out. If we are excited about what God is doing in our life, those around us will get excited about what God can do in their lives.
The desire is to attract others to walk by faith, put their hope in God, and accept God’s mercy through the loving gift of His son. This fulfills the Great Commission (Matt.28:18-20) of taking the gospel to all nations.
This day with You Lord, we can remember the joys of the past and we are excited about what You will be doing in the future. You were there with Moses to part the Red Sea and You are with us now to help us get through anything. We can patiently handle difficulties with poise because we know there is freedom and victory in our future. Amen.
