But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. –1 Corinthians 15:57
In the post “See How To Win Battles”, a prophet told Jehu that he would be king over Israel. Jehu had confidence because of this prophecy, and he could see how to carry out God’s purpose for his life. All happened exactly as prophesized. Because of accepting Jesus in our heart, God has anointed us as ruler in His kingdom. Like Jehu, we have confidence to carry out His plan.
God accomplishes what He says by putting the right people in the right places with angels protecting and watching over those doing His work. Accepting God’s love through Christ is the prerequisite to victory. Like some of the lyrics in the songCount ‘Em by Brandon Lake, the Lord will show wonders we can’t number and so many victories, we can’t count ‘em. We will prevail and never fail!
For winning our battles in life, we need the proper spiritual weapons to face the enemy like the sword of the Spirit, the shield of faith, and the helmet of salvation. Reading today in 2 Kings 9, we continue to maintain and sharpen these weapons.
Noted today is that God has a big part in the revolution of Jehu against Joram. He gave instructions to Elisha to send one of his students with some olive oil to Ramoth Gilead and find Jehu who was one of the captains of the northern army. Then, to get Jehu alone and explain to him that his purpose was to destroy Ahab’s household. He then would pour some of the oil on Jehu’s head and declare that the Lord has anointed Jehu king over Israel.
The prophet carried out the instructions and told Jehu exactly what would happen. That Jehu would destroy the house of Ahab his master. That Jezebel would be devoured by dogs. Jehu had confidence because of this prophecy, and he could see how to carry out God’s purpose for his life. All happened exactly as prophesized. Because of accepting Christ in our heart, God has anointed us as a leader in His kingdom. Like Jehu, we have confidence to carry out His plan.
God accomplishes what He says by putting the right people in the right places with an army of angels protecting and watching over those doing His work. Today, because of God’s plan for us, we have Good News! By accepting Christ as Savior, we have right standing with God and He has given us confidence to accomplish great things for His purpose. Let us pray now for the instructions and set out to have a great day stepping ahead in a powerful way.
Accepting God’s love through Christ is the prerequisite to being victorious. Nothing is easy in this world because of evil against us but with Jesus, all is won so see the victory and you will never fail as grace will give power for you to prevail.
The day God, we are thankful for the spiritual weapons you have given us to win our battles. We have confidence that Your purpose for our life is being carried out because with Jesus we know we will prevail and never fail. There is an army of angels protecting and watching over us so we can do Your work and we will have a productive day stepping ahead in a powerful way accomplishing Your plan for us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. – Luke 6:38
When it’s down to the end of the game in the fourth quarter and we need a big play, care enough to get in the game, make the big stop of cultural decline, and hold the opponent from getting a first down. By giving it our allfulfilling our call for the Way of Jesus, we show that we care, we are playing our part, and we make a big difference for final victory in the life of many.
A main thought from the post “God Gave Generously” is that it takes only one person’s attitude toward God to influence history. Let us set out daily to be that person. This day with God, let us be influenced by a winning tradition passed from one group to the next … one generation to the next. Let us think of ways to give our knowledge, skills, or resources to the building up of the kingdom of God so a victorious tradition is established and carried out. We will make a big difference if we each pitch in to help our families, our communities, and our nation
Celebrate today with the song My Victory – Passion (Feat. Crowder) with confidence because as the lyrics point out, God has given us a plan and this plan gives victory. Amazing grace runs through our veins because Jesus’ death is hell’s defeat. A cross meant to kill is our victory.
God said let there be light, and light was in view. He gave food and water, so things of nature grew. Mountains high and mighty, timeless existence, beaches of sand, and sunsets in the distance. God gave generously to His people and most of all, He gave us Jesus. We have all we need so let us trust God that He will give generously in our future.
All we need to do is our part so let us continue to read His Word and apply it to our life. The journey continues now into 2 Kings 8 and noted is that God gave back what a woman had left behind. The woman who had taken care of Elisha and whose son Elisha had been restored to life had been told to go away and stay for seven years because there would be a famine in the land.
Upon her return, she appealed to the king. Gehazi, the servant of Elisha just so happened to be there telling the king about Elisha bringing the woman’s son back from death. The king thought highly of Elisha, and this influenced him to assign an official to her case. Everything that belonged to her was given back. God had set things up so she could recover her house and all the income her land had earned (v. 6).
This day my friend, know that Jesus was assigned our case and God has set things up with aplan for us.
As we read further in the passage today, we note the trouble caused by corrupted leaders. Hazael murders Aram the king of Ben-Hadad. Kings were influenced by evil as they married those who did not follow God. They followed the wicked way of their ancestors. There was upheaval, family infighting, and total defeat in the hands of enemies.
All it takes is one person’s attitude toward God to influence history. Let us set out daily to be that person. This day with God, let us be influenced by a winning tradition passed from one group to the next … one generation to the next. Let us think of ways to give our knowledge, skills, or resources to the building up of the kingdom of God so a victorious tradition is established and carried out. We will make a big difference if we each pitch in to give our best effort for our families, our neighbors, and our nation
The day God, we have been given power in the name of Jesus. We have what we need but we must play our part in defeating the enemy. We double down on adversity by giving our best today. Help us to be good stewards of what You have given. You own everything and we can’t take anything with us when our life on earth is done, but Your Spirit inside lives forever so we focus on Jesus. He makes us pure in Spirit and gives us the power to make the amazing happen by taking ownership of our time, our habits, our choices, and how we share with others. For it is in Jesus’ name we pray today, amen.
Reading John 4:27-42, Jesus said He gets food to eat that they didn’t know about (v. 32). He feeds off of the passion for doing the will of God. Sharing the Word with others is doing the will of God. It’s like being a farmer that sows seeds and after these seeds take root in the heart of believers, there is a harvest to reap. There is a reward for knowing that the hard work pays off, that people are fed food for the soul, and that this produces benefits for all. The blessings consist of a future with provision, purpose, peace, and the crown of life. A perfect place for us that is beyond what could be imagined!
