The World is a Mess But He Can Bless

Reflecting on the walk through the book of Isaiah, God was not pleased with His people. Incorrect thoughts and actions led down the wrong path. Thankfully, God helps us get on the right path. It’s not by stepping ahead of others but by letting God get ahead of us that leads to victory. This day with God, let us step ahead with boldness following God with certain expectancy.

Today, we continue the walk as we read Isaiah 59. In a world riddled with chaos, one might wonder what went wrong. The answer is not divine indifference, but rather human imperfection. People were broken by sin, resulting in a profound separation from God.

Our wrong attitudes and actions contribute significantly to this mess. Financial issues, destroyed relationships, and the grip of drugs and alcohol are manifestations of deeper, spiritual problems. To make meaningful progress, we must first admit our part in the problem (vv. 9-15).

But we are not without hope. God, seeing the absence of truth and justice, intervenes for His people. He dons righteousness as His breastplate and salvation as His helmet (v. 17), a warrior fighting for truth and love.

This divine intervention stems from God’s immense love for us. We are so valuable to Him that He gave His one and only son to die for us. By accepting Jesus as Savior, we open ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, paving the way for a better world. It’s through this divine relationship that we can find hope, healing, and the strength to make positive changes in our lives and communities.

In conclusion, while the world may seem messy and broken, there is a path to redemption and renewal. By acknowledging our shortcomings and embracing the love and guidance of God, we can work towards a better, more just world.

This day with You God, we are thankful that You speak to us through Your Word. With Your sanctifying grace, You provide us with what we need to get back on the right path and walk ahead with boldness. Just like long ago as Isaiah the prophet writes, we too face things that want to hold us captive like financial issues, health issues, or relationship issues but through it all, You give us assurance when we have doubts because we follow Jesus. His death and resurrection changed everything so we can step ahead out of bondage to an incredible future. Amen.

    Blessings.
