Things Made By God Line Up

Trust in what God has made rather than what man has made. Things made by man don’t always line up, but things made by God always do and lead us to where we need to go.

Continuing to follow what God has made today as we read in Isaiah 28, we get prophesy that the Lord has a time of wrath for the proud Samaria who did things their way rather than God’s way. A time of hell on earth where they weep and wail and tear out hair. There will be hail and destructive wind. A driving rain and flooding downpour (v. 2). A mighty floodwater of the Euphrates will run over all its banks. For the remnant, God will be a glorious crown. A spirit of justice (vv. 5-6).

Isaiah prophesizes that life will get distressing, stressful, upsetting. Even for the leaders (priests and prophets) who Isaiah describes as immature like a baby just weaned from their milk (v. 9). They complain that it’s too hard to abide by the laws and regulations.

Things in life can be difficult, but these challenges cause many to seek a better way. The Good News is that in current times, we have the better Way with Jesus Christ. The Word became flesh to teach and understand the better Way to live. Jesus explained about the advantage of the Spirit which flows from God, fills all who He calls, and sets in motion the application of our faith in all we do.
