There are rules we live by 
and they are our guardrails, 
found in His Word and lighting our trails. 
these rules give us God’s design for living, 
blessing those who constantly are seeking.

Jesus says in John 8:34, “Everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”

This day with God, we are thankful that Christ offers a fix. Reading in John 8:48-59, Jesus says in verse 51 that whoever obeys His word will never see death. Unfortunately, not all believed and responded by saying that Jesus was demon-possessed.

This day with God let us not be like the non-believers, but obey Jesus’ words. Let us see the Light, let the King of glory in, and be guided by Holy Spirit. For those who apply their faith and believe in Jesus will receive the reward of eternal life.  Just like an athlete who practices to win the prize, let us gain the prize with assurance that Holy Spirit within us will power us on to the victorious finish.  

This day with God, Jesus is our quarterback as we get ready run the play. We will huddle and He will tell us the play to execute as we now pray. It’s up to us to listen so we can follow God’s plan for us and execute the play. Holy Spirit is with us to push us along to fulfill our role on the team like an enthusiastic crowd. We will run, block, and catch what is thrown our way.

This day with You Lord, help us to execute the plan. To evaluate how we are doing so we can tweak for better tomorrows. We use Your commands as guardrails and Your Word lights our trails to a brighter future. We are ready today for what is thrown our way because of Jesus for it is in His name we pray, amen.
