Passage Lookup

Billy Graham was quoted once to say, “Comfort and prosperity have never enriched the world as much as adversity has”.  Those that face adversity can be of good cheer because the hard times prepare one with the advantage of lessons learned that can lead to spectacular achievement in the future.

In Chapter 10 of Matthew, we read about Jesus giving instructions and preparing the Twelve Disciples. To be a part of God’s team, it requires some discomfort at times but there are huge eternal dividends.  Today, I’m praying that I see myself as a valuable part of God’s team; ready to give up a little comfort to do my part in His overall plan.

About Mark Shields

Mark volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. Each of the studies are designed to help apply our faith in the work place, at school, or at home. Join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
