The Bible is many books in one with Christ as the center of everything. It is full of action and adventure; it’s true, alive, powerful, and it changes people from the inside out. I remember hearing my Pastor Steve Ramsdell make this point in a sermon: If God feels distant, acknowledge it but expect Him to come near and when He does, reach out and receive the Spirit.
Christ is in the business of healing, changing people, and forgiving sin. In Today’s passage, He brings back the daughter of a ruler from dead, heals a sick woman, heals two blind men, and casts out a demon from a man.
Today, pray for more workers to be raised up and sent forth as God’s messengers. Pray that God comes near today as you reach up to receive the Spirit.
