Reading for Today

Set some time aside; maybe 10-20 minutes each day for the next two days. Read Isaiah 65 using your Bible or the passage lookup tool: Passage Lookup. After reading the passage for today, click back and continue with the items below.

Isaiah is asking God a question at the end of Isaiah 64. How does God answer his question? What have you earnestly prayed for recently? Imagine the effect of the newness described in this passage. How would you feel in such a situation? Why?

Actions or Responses:

God is answering Isaiah’s questions at the end of chapter 64. Isaiah is talking to God and is wondering if they will continue to go through struggles. In verses 17-25, God tells him it will be different in the future. Set aside a prayer time and remember to tell God that you are thankful for Christ Jesus who has cleared the way to a brighter future.

About Mark Shields

Mark volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. Each of the studies are designed to help apply our faith in the work place, at school, or at home. Join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
