4. THE EMMAUS ROAD                Luke 24

“That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles out of Jerusalem… Suddenly, Jesus Himself came along and joined them and began walking beside them.” Luke 24:13 & 15 (NLT)

 

“They said to each other, ‘Didn’t our hearts feel strangely warm as He talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?’ ” Luke 24:32 (NLT)

    Thougths on #4 – On the way to Emmaus, two of Jesus’ followers were in a state of despair and needed help in understanding why Jesus had been crucified so He joined them on their walk. They didn’t know it was Jesus walking with them until later when they were eating. Jesus changed their dark day into one of joy and hope. That’s what Jesus did then and that’s still true today. We can choose the road to despair or the one that leads to joy and hope.
