Q4 – Four Questions. Answer them well, and find life. Fail to answer them, and risk missing out on what’s most important. These are questions we each must ask individually and as a church.  And, they require us to be honest with ourselves and maybe even cause us to make changes. How would you answer them? In this 4-part message series, Rev. Stephen Ramsdell will help us consider the Bible’s answer to each question for our lives and for the church. Ask the questions with us, and be ready to see your life and our church in a whole new light.

Q-2 WHY ARE WE HERE?

Acts 2:46-47 (NLT)

TO:

1. REPRESENT

“They joined with the other believers and devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, sharing in the Lord’s Supper and in prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.” Acts 2:42-43 (NLT)

2. ACCEPT

“And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything they had.” Acts 2:44 (NLT)

3. INITIATE

“They sold their possessions and shared the proceeds with those in need.” Acts 2:45 (NLT)

4. ILLUMINATE

“They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.” Acts 2:46 (NLT)

5. GROW

“… all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.” Acts 2:47 (NLT)

Growing, praying, and studying is a great adventure. You not only help yourself but others in the process. There is a video called The Great Adventure by Steven Curtis Chapman. We can expect a great adventure if we take things to God and allow Him to be strong when we are weak; letting Him assist as we clearly illuminate our joy and generosity.

I liked the part of the sermon in point four. That we are here to illuminate like the apostles and believers who were organized, together, and focused much like a laser beam cutting through steel.
