Worship the LORD your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you. – Exodus 23:25
From the previous post βRewarding Food for the Soulβ, noted was that life throws some curves, but God can give a fresh change if we keep our eyes on the reward. God through Jesus can meet all our needs in life so keep on praising Him.
God can change our outlook in a split second so letβs start with the old song Cool Change – Little River Band and keep your eyes on the ultimate reward.
If lifeβs thrown some curves, maybe itβs time for a fresh change by taking in the rewarding food for the soul and the refreshing water of the Spirit. Because of Jesus, God can meet our needs in life so we keep on praising Him rather than expecting the world to fulfill our needs.
There is a need for humility when life throws a curveball. To realize that we canβt do it all and the need to lay things down at the foot of the cross. To be in awe of God, put Him first, and spend time in prayer. Seek Him every day and in Him believe. Be thankful for His provision and grateful for all we receive.
As we studied the last passage at the end of Isaiah 2, there is this question: Why hold humans in esteem? The first part of Isaiah 3 answers that question. The Lord Almighty in a split second can change everything. He can give supply, support, food and water or take everything of value away.
Later in the passage, explained is how the women of Zion outwardly presented themselves to others. They were arrogant as they walked around with outstretched necks, flirted with their eyes, strutted along with swaying hips, and with ornaments jingling on their ankles (v. 16).
Our outward appearance and attitude make an impact on God and on others. Within the passage, we note what Isaiah prophesizes that the Lord would bring sores on the heads of the women of Zion (v. 17). He would snatch away their jewelry, perfume, and fine clothing. Instead of well-dressed hair, He would bring baldness to them (v. 24).
The lesson is to be in awe of God rather than our own achievements. To spend time in prayer asking for direction. To present ourselves with kindness and humility with a respectful attitude because this makes a big impact on God and those around us.
This day with You God, we remember the past and know what You have done for us. Life has thrown us some curveballs, but we keep stepping up to the plate and keep putting our eyes on the ultimate reward. Suddenly, You change everything to help us have a better outlook. We see better as we take in Your creation. It may be a sunrise, sunset, field of flowers, or a rainbow in the sky. These reward our lives and give us a fresh change knowing the future will be beyond our imagination. We praise and worship You in Jesusβ name. Amen.
A person’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way? – Proverbs 20:24
Society was in bad shape in Israel during the time of Isaiah the prophet but the treasure found and shared in βClear Path to a Brighter Futureβ is that searching and learning about Godβs Way leads us to where we want to go. If individuals build their life on the path of solid rocks that God says is important, then the first steps are taken to a brighter future. Β
So, this day, we seek to be in awe of God, we put Him first, and spend time in prayer. This day, let us devote our lives to do as the song says in Come Let Us Return to the Lord.
Itβs going to be a great day because God has given us all that we need. We can read His word, pray, and get advice or insight as we step ahead with confidence along the clear path to a brighter future.
In the beginning of Isaiah 2, we note that Isaiah the prophet is seeing the future when Godβs righteous kingdom is established. The third temple sits on the temple mount. Nations are drawn to this place where God is present and people obey His Way. There is peace and safety as they walk in the light of the Lord (v. 5).
But pride, greed, and idol worship continues to be committed by Israel so Satanβs method of murder and lies is in control of the nation. If they would turn from their sin, they would escape the earthquake that would destroy the temple mount upon the Holy Mountain in the city of Truth.
Unfortunately, society continues to worship the idols of current times like celebrities, money, sports figures, money, and all the false religions. The situation is urgent today as more in society need to turn to Godβs Way which is grace and Truth.
Searching and learning about Godβs Way provides the clear path to a brighter future. If individuals follow what God says is important, then the first steps are taken to better people, families, and societies. So this day with God, we seek to be in awe of God, we put Him first, and spend time in prayer.
This day Father God, we are glad to be in Your presence. Your character never changes. Day by day, we learn how to live Your Way. Your word is alive and active to guide us along the path as we read it, apply it, and share it. Help us to step ahead following Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, and the life. Amen.
From reading John 8:1-11, no one, including Jesus condemned the woman caught in adultery. Jesus gave guidance, but let the scribes and Pharisees be a part of a big decision. Β The Teacher let them take ownership in the decision and let them accept some of the responsibility for it being carried out. All Jesus had to do is encourage the scribes and Pharisees to do the right thing. They went away one by one and did not condemn the woman.
