Filling the Void

In yesterday’s post, some points noted were about being humble, giving credit to those who help with accomplishment, and praising God for our success. Jesus tells us at the end of the Bible in Revelation 22:12 that our reward is with Him. He will come and give to everyone according to what they have done.

We seek a rewarding life but many times we find only things that leave a void. Here’s a video to explain what can fill the void: Voice of the Savior – Mandisa.

Keep a prayer list of people you most want to join God’s team. Give them something that will fill the void. Here’s a link to a post that helps to fill it: How to Have a Relationship with God – Settled In Heaven.

Those Who Sow in Tears Shall Reap in Joy

Most things worth having took hard work and it is much more rewarding when you get them through effort and blessings from God. Once rewarded, it’s important to be humble; giving credit to those who helped and praising God.

These attributes of hard work, humility, and praise are brought out in in Psalm 126 as the exiles returned from Babylon and began rebuilding the Temple. After they laid the foundation, they gave thanks to the Lord, rejoiced, and then celebrated their freedom.

In the same way, we can give thanks, rejoice, and celebrate each day for our freedom from captivity because of Christ who frees from the power of sin. He fills the void of an otherwise empty life. We can give thanks to God and give Him credit for good relationships, sound character, excellent study habits, and a solid work ethic.

Even though the days ahead may have difficulty, we can still give thanks in all circumstances because there is hope in the future. Those Who Sow in Tears Shall Reap in Joy.

Continue to want others to know about this reward Jesus Christ talks about in Revelation 22:12, Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.

Each day with God is amazing when we give those who have not accepted Jesus a link to our blog or the blog of those we follow, when we pray for them, and are a positive witness for them.

Our Constant Shield and Protector

There are times when we may feel invincible but life can hit pretty hard. That’s when we realize we’re not as strong as we thought. That’s when we begin to gain some wisdom and realize that we need God to provide our shelter when the storms blow in. That’s when we realize that working with God is like running with the wind instead of against it.

In yesterday’s post about Psalm 125, God is compared to a mountain which is a constant shield from bad weather or can protect from enemies during war. We can take courage, for God will protect us in time of need.

I really enjoy growing in the Lord with you and sharing videos that hopefully bless and uplift you. I’d like to share this video to pass on this thought that God is protecting at all times: He Is – Mark Schultz. God Bless! 🙂

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid for God is with you and He will never leave you. – From Deuteronomy 31:6

Take Courage in God’s Protection

Pope's Road leading up to Mount Zion (Jerusalem)

As I read Psalm 125, trusting in the Lord is compared to Mount Zion which is never shaken and endures forever. A mountain has characteristics like firmness, providence, promise, and safety. Mount Zion which is another name for the city of Jerusalem sits on a mountain ridge. The mountains protect the Holy city and guard against its enemies so that it can stand the test of time.

The psalmist’s can have a solid trust in God but be aware of the dangers of the hidden enemy known as sin. As God’s people, we need to have this same balance in our daily living; having confidence and courage but at the same time being on guard against the enemy that wants to destroy our soul.

The way of holiness is straight and leads to peace but the way of sin is crooked and leads to strife. In prayer, be thankful because we can take courage in the security God gives us. We have peace not because of our perfection but because of the Lord’s grace.

Help with Difficulties

Life is full of disappointments. Let’s face it, we all fail at times but that shouldn’t keep us down; especially when we have faith that God will work in our life. As pointed out in yesterday’s post, He’s big enough to beat down the obstacles in our way. In fact, the failures can become stepping stones to a bright future. Think of these examples below:

  • Dismissed from Drama school because of shyness – Lucille Ball
  • Tuned down from a recording company because they didn’t like their sound – The Beatles
  • Cut from his high school basketball team –  Michael Jordon
  • Fired from a newspaper because he lacked imagination – Walt Disney

We all face disappointments. Sometimes a song or video can give a lift during storms of life. I’d like to share this video: Shelter Me – Bruce Carroll, Billy Sprague and Bob Bennett.

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:10
