Unlimited Potential

God sees so much value in each of us; so much that He sent His Son to die for you and me. Let us be a positive influence on others with our discipline, hard work, and caring attitude; focusing on being a blessing to others.

With Christ, we have unlimited potential and all we should see is open skies like this song: Open Skies – David Crowder Band.

A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! – Psalm 100:1-2

Praise and Adoration

As we continue the study of Song of Songs, symbolically we are getting the expressions of affection between Christ and the church. Solomon represents Christ and the Shulammite girl represents the church. Solomon describes the Shulammite girl by using some great images in Song of Songs 6-7; images of desire like jewels, fine wine, and luscious fruit. Also images of wonder like great cities, moon, sun, and stars.

Solomon flatters the girl in verses 8-10 by saying she is unique, blessed, and perfect. It’s rewarding to receive praise and adoration from others. It also can be rewarding to give complements. Let us all make a difference in someone’s day by encouraging others.

This day with God will be amazing because many will be blessed by you. Pray for excellence and holiness within the church and that all her enemies will be overcome. Pray for strong churches that are helping God fight off the enemy and is useful as a positive influence in bringing many souls to Christ.

The New Year is Knocking on the Door and so is the Spirit of Christ

???????????????????????????????

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service 2013

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. My family attended a great Candlelight service as you can see in the photo. We then went over to my sister-in-laws house to enjoy a meal on Christmas day. Later that afternoon, we traveled to my hometown about sixty miles away to enjoy an evening with my brother, two sisters, and their families.

The person whose birthday we just celebrated is God in the flesh. The Spirit of Christ knocks on the door of our heart. But we are not always ready. Here’s a poem I wrote intended to get us ready: Ready for Each Day.

Friendship is a crucial part of a permanent love commitment. We should lift up those we are committed to; pray for them, listen and care. We are to love what they love and try to do what they ask.

The love of Christ gives us peace and freedom to take risk for He lives in us. Always believe He will help you come through and overcome any situation you face. Accept God’s Wonderful Counselor for life. Here’s another poem inspired by my recent study in Song of Songs: Love Lifts Higher.

As we head into the New Year, I will continue with my postings of the study in Song of Songs; a book that many read as a parable to demonstrate affections between Christ and the church. I should be able to finish this study in a few more days. Then the plan is to post for a while about a study of 2 Peter.

Merry Christmas

During this time of Christmas, we can be grateful to God who sent His Son whose birth we celebrate. Here’s a poem I wrote that was inspired by this thought: The Light of Christmas.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my friends!

Worship Service Update

With God, there is always hope. Sometimes we may think there isn’t an answer to our problems but each day we wake up, we have a new day to search for solutions. When found, we should celebrate like a child at Christmas.

Last Sunday at the church I attend, the message was titled “Revealing Light”.  Christmas is here … what are we looking for? This holiday season, pause in the midst of your Christmas preparations to make your heart ready through worship.  Pastor Steve brought the message to us with some great points in bold. Below each point are some notes I took while listening.

Christmas Comes with No Assembly Required
Gifts received at Christmas sometimes require assembly and some can be complicated but God’s gift of Jesus requires no assembly. God has engineered a gift for us that is the perfect gift that is present with us to help be the person He wants us to be.

Christmas Reveals God is with Us
In John 14:23, Jesus tells us if we ask Him into our heart, He will come in and be with us always.

Christmas was a Disturbing Event
During the point in time when Jesus was born, it was not a pleasant era to live. King Herod was a terrible person; ordering the death of every child in the area under the age of two.

Christmas is a Time of Searching
With God, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel so never give up. Search far and wide, search deep inside. Find a way out of the dark time by asking for help.

Christmas Provides a Reason to Celebrate
Look for the light and when you find it, celebrate because you see better days ahead. The answer to the problem is found and there are things to be excited about for the future.

Christmas is a Revelation that Involves a Response
Sing the songs and worry will flee and darkness will concede. Make Christ central in your life and realize that darkness will not last forever but know that God’s eternal light will shine forever.

Next weekend, Pastor Fenzel will bring the message “This is Just the Beginning”. If you are not able to attend your local church service (traveling, health condition, weather, etc), I invite you to this link of the podcast where you can listen/watch each sermon message.

Have a very Merry Christmas my friends!
