Thought From Devotional 09-12-2025

Being well acquainted with God’s Word cultivates a deep reservoir of knowledge that goes beyond mere information—it nurtures spiritual understanding and discernment. As 1 John 4:1-12 reminds us, true love and truth come from God, and knowing His Word equips us to recognize what is genuine and good. This clarity empowers us to make wise, Spirit-led decisions that align with His will. Such guidance not only brings inner peace and joy but also stirs within us a desire to extend love and support to others, reflecting the very nature of God’s love that was made observable through Christ.

Fix Our Eyes on the Unseen

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:18

A thought from the post “A Rainbow That Follows a Storm” is that individuals who are organized, unified, and laser-focused are always in high demand. Their ability to stand firm in defending what is right, guided by principles that have withstood the test of time, makes them invaluable. These proven foundations, rooted in wisdom and integrity, not only ensure success today but also promise stability and effectiveness in the future. With unwavering purpose and a commitment to truth, they lead with confidence, shaping a path that others can trust and follow.

The song Fix My Eyes by King & Country reminds us that the road less traveled may be difficult, but it is worth walking in faith. It calls us to love boldly, without fear, to speak out for freedom, and to keep our eyes fixed on the Lord—the source of strength and truth. In a world full of distractions, this song encourages us to stand firm, to pursue what is right, and to live with unwavering devotion to Him. A beautiful reminder that faith and courage go hand in hand.

A Rainbow That Follows a Storm

In Jonah 4, God uses a simple plant to illustrate His reason for showing mercy, reminding us that His wisdom and compassion extend far beyond our understanding. Just as He provided the plant to teach Jonah, He continues to offer us moments of clarity through the world around us. Whether it’s the song that stirs our hearts, the laughter that lifts our spirits, or the rainbow that follows a storm, these are His gentle reminders that He is ever present, guiding us toward deeper faith and understanding. Let us trust that He will always provide what we need to grasp His truth.

The plant in today’s passage serves as a powerful illustration of God’s righteousness in His actions toward Nineveh. Just as He provided shade for Jonah, He also extended mercy to a repentant city, showing that His justice is intertwined with His boundless compassion. This passage calls us to pay attention to what we can do with the resources He has given us—to not take them for granted but to use them wisely for the benefit of His Creation. When we recognize that every blessing carries a purpose, we can align our actions with His will, reflecting His love and care in all that we do.

Through the book of Jonah, God teaches us valuable lessons about faith, obedience, and trust in His plan. In every circumstance, He calls us to pray, seek His wisdom, and walk in obedience to His will, even when faced with challenges. Difficult moments are not meant to break us but to strengthen our faith, reminding us that He is always present, working for our good. When we place our confidence in Him, we can rest assured that He will carry us through every storm, just as He guided Jonah and showed mercy to Nineveh. His love is steadfast, and His plans are always for our ultimate good.

Applying these lessons to daily life, starts by identifying actions that align with God’s mission for our life. Staying focused and resisting distractions that pull us away from His calling. As we walk in His way, let us remain open to growth—seeking improvements, refining our approach, and adjusting when necessary, trusting that He will guide our steps. Confidence in Him means stepping ahead boldly, knowing He has already prepared the way. With faith and determination, let us continue pressing forward, committed to fulfilling His purpose in every aspect of our journey.

Individuals who are organized, unified, and laser-focused are always in high demand.

🙏 Heavenly Father, our hearts and minds are fixed on You. We trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we take each step forward on this journey of faith. May we walk in the footsteps of Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Light—our constant source of wisdom and salvation. Lead us in Your righteousness, reminding us that He reigns as King over the spiritual kingdom, where peace and eternal joy dwell. Strengthen our faith, keep us steadfast, and fill us with the assurance of Your everlasting love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
