Enabled

This day with God, we are enabled to sow the good seeds of the Word as we read John 6:59-71, and have faith that the harvest will be plentiful. There is renewal each day and a sense of wonder as these seeds grow into the fruit of the Spirit.

From the study of verses 25-40, Jesus said that He is the Bread of Life, Many had a hard time understanding because they were thinking of physical food. Jesus explains that His flesh or victorious death on the cross brings eternal life that is real food and His blood shed on the cross is real drink. Those who accept this sacrifice of the body and blood receive eternal life.

He explains that His teaching is spiritual. The Spirit gives life, but the flesh counts for nothing. He goes on to say that followers were enabled by the Father to believe that He is the Holy One of God. We note in today’s passage that many of Jesus’ followers thought the teaching was too hard, so they abandoned Jesus and His teaching.

The takeaway for us this day is that the Father has enabled us, and we can apply our faith. We are enabled to share our faith at home, at work, in our leisure time, and in whatever we do. To set out each day making note of God’s presence, to share it with others, and open the door to joy in this world and the next one where there is the ultimate reward of eternal bliss.

Thought From Devotional This Day 11-03-2023

You have the source of power to push you forward, the Holy Spirit to guide, and grace if you get out of alignment. A devotional thought from reading 1 Kings 9 is the need to keep the connection to your power source by worshiping the ONE true God. Spending time each day in prayer and reading the Word. Always make every effort for growth and improvement in your spiritual life because you want to stay aligned with God’s Way that leads to a bright future with blessings beyond what could be imagined!

Fitness Forever

*A woman caught her husband on the weight scale sucking in his stomach. “That won’t help you, you know?” “Oh it helps a lot, “says the man, “it’s the only way I can see the numbers!”

As many people enter middle aged, their age starts to show around their middle. The physical body becomes harder to maintain but as noted in the post “Bread of Life”, Jesus provides spiritual food for the soul so we have fitness forever.

This day with God, let us take care of ourselves because we are each His temple. Let Jesus carry our burdens so all we need to do is simply do God’s will. Let us plant the seeds of Christ’s principles into our soul.  Add the clear water of the Spirit and let God make the seeds grow into spiritual fruit.

With Jesus or the Bread of Life, our spiritual body remains connected to the nutritious vine that provides life eternal. Let us celebrate with a song for our soul called Word of Life by Jeremy Camp and like the song says, breathe in the Word of life. Be called to live like you’ve been changed and have fitness forever.

Bread of Life

The purpose of communion is to remember the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross. Communion is also known as the Lord’s Supper as explained by Paul below in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Reading today in John 6:41-59, Jesus said that He was the Bread of Life in verses 25-40 and the people began to grumble because they were thinking of physical food. Jesus explains that his flesh or victorious death on the cross brings eternal life is real food and his blood real drink. Those who accept this sacrifice of the body and blood of Christ receive eternal life.

Jesus lives because of the Father, and we live because of Jesus (v. 57). This day with God, let Jesus carry our burdens so we can simply do God’s will. With Jesus or the Bread of Life, our spiritual body remains connected to the nutritious vine that provides life eternal.

Like bread that sustains life, Jesus supports our basic needs now and into eternity.
