Execution of the Plan

Jesus says in John 8:34, “Everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”

*By the way, did you know the oldest computer was owned by Adam and Eve? It was an Apple with limited memory. Just 1 byte and everything crashed.

This day with God, we are thankful that Christ offers a fix. Reading in John 8:48-59, Jesus says in verse 51 that whoever obeys His word will never see death. Unfortunately, not all believed and responded by saying that Jesus was demon-possessed.

This day with God let us not be like the non-believers, but obey Jesus’ words. Let us see the Light, let the King of glory in, and be guided by Holy Spirit. For those who apply their faith and believe in Jesus will receive the reward of eternal life.  Just like an athlete who practices to win the prize, let us gain the prize with assurance that Holy Spirit within us will power us on to the victorious finish.

This day with God, Jesus is our quarterback as we get ready run the play. We will huddle and He will tell us the play to execute as we now pray. It’s up to us to listen so we can follow God’s plan for us and execute the play. Holy Spirit is with us to push us along to fulfill our role on the team like an enthusiastic crowd. We will run, block, and catch what is thrown our way.

Thought From Devotional This Day 12-01-2023

After Solomon, his son Rehoboam was crowned king but as explained in 1 Kings 12:1-24, he entangled his people with the yoke of bondage instead of giving his people liberty.

Rehoboam lacked basic elements of good leadership. To take advice from the right people. Also, to empower and support those you are leading because if they are successful, then you are successful.

Begin to be Free

Explained in John 8:31-47 is that what identifies a disciple is holding on to the teachings of Jesus and following through until achievement. Jesus says in John 8:34, “Everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” All are slaves to sin, but Christ offers freedom so create a picture in your mind of being free; be drawn towards the Light of Life. The Light will both heal and nourishes the heart.

A heart that accepts Jesus allows the healing to begin and then God is with us as Holy Spirit lives inside so there is a rebirth into freedom. Holy Spirit thinks, speaks, and leads with power and peace. Then, the heart continues to be free by undergoing changes in order to come across all that God wants us to experience. Gifting us with a purpose for the benefit of the whole body of Christ.

Like the first bloom of spring that makes a countryside eventually flourish with flowers, the future outcome for us is one of hope. We can rejoice even in a deep winter because the light dawns over the horizon to warm our hearts in this hopeful season.
