Moving in the right direction

God demonstrated past greatness as recorded in the Bible, He knows the future, and with Him we have the law of Christ written in our heart. A bright future with God is guaranteed so we can confidently act fast and move in the right direction.

Reading Isaiah 43:14 through 44:23 God says he will bring ultimate victory over their enemies. Thinking of the great sports teams, why do certain teams dominate over their opposition? They usually have this new thing that other teams just can’t seem to handle.

Tom Landry, the great coach of the Dallas Cowboys football team from 1960-1988 was the inventor of flex defense. A very complex defense in which all the gaps were covered, and the middle linebacker was free to make the tackle. That’s what the Christian life is. The Holy Spirit tells us where to go to cover the gaps while our God is freed up to tackle the enemy.

When we read the book of Truth, we can pray and develop a game plan each day with God. There is confidence because we know that we will do the right things. The word of God gives instructions that are timeless for our hearts and lives. We will keep on track with the “Play Book” that will lead us to the goal line.

Israel’s past had been one of inconsistencies. They would go to God during difficulty but then worship idols during good times. Idols provide nothing … they know nothing, understand nothing, and give no hope. Israel’s only hope for the future was to worship the ONE true God and not idols.

The lesson for us is to forget the old way for there is a new way God has provided. Throughout our journey, we can gain lessons from the Word of God and from each other. This day with God, we have the perfect example in Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Thank You Lord for giving us the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Your plan is flawless and trustworthy to get us where we want to go. Your Word guides us to step ahead along the Way and we know You will tackle the enemy. We may face adversity, but You are with us to take on the challenges and persevere towards peace and joy. We continue to learn Your Way and give You praise. Amen.
