Obedience and Achievement

After the death of Moses, Joshua became the leader of the Israelites as they continued toward the promised land of Canaan. Reading in Joshua 1, God promises Joshua that He would be there to help lead to the land He swore to their ancestors (v. 6).

In today’s passage, we learn that there is a correlation between obedience and achievement. God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous; to obey the instructions found in the scripture. These same promises that God gave Joshua in verses 5 and 9 apply to our lives today. No one will be able to stand against us because God is with us providing strength and courage wherever we go.

This day with you Lord, we come to you in prayer. Help us to learn the playbook to a successful life, help us to daily work to improve, and to listen for Your instructions. We know that You will be with us wherever we go, giving strength and courage. Because of You Lord, no one will be able to stand up against us. Amen.
