Worship Him Only

Solomon finished praying and as recorded in 2 Chronicles 7, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple (V. 1). They knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord (V. 3). They offered sacrifices before the Lord (V. 4).

The ceremonies and feasting for the dedication of the temple lasted for fourteen days and as the people went home, they were joyful and glad in their heart for the good things the Lord had done. There was a promise from God to hear their prayers if they walked by his commandments and worship Him only.

God speaks in many ways but most of all through the Bible. We get faith-based principles of how we should live from the Bible; life lessons we can internalize to help live an effective life. Through prayer, we can follow God’s leadership and receive the help needed to become a better person. Each day, we repeat good thoughts and take action until good habits become automatic.

A life with God helps an individual to be organized and have priorities so that a plan is put in place to guide every step. The plan is put in motion for accomplishment, prayer is a constant in going the right way, and thoughts of reaching the destination provide continuous inspiration.

This day with God, let us be amazed and inspired to be the best we can be; have the desire to please Him, hope for mercy, and follow His instructions.
