I recently finished questions for reflection to help in the study of Esther 1-4. To review where I’ve been over the last few weeks along with a synopsis of the answers, I wrote a post at this link: answers as we step ahead.
The next part of the travel will take me to Esther 5-10. The book of Esther is a thrilling story of a Jewish girl who became Queen of Persia. God uses her to save her nation. Along this journey, I’ve noted various lessons we can learn from the Book of Esther and over the next few weeks, I will be posting some more thoughts. The questions below will help focus on each passage.
What risk does Esther take in approaching the king? How is the hand of God evidenced in the events of chapter 6? God had a purpose for Esther – do you know what task God has in mind for you?
At the second feast, what request does Esther make? What are the benefits of her open identification with her people? What series of events does the king set in action as a result of Esther’s exposure? What are the risks and benefits of your open identification with Jesus Christ and his people?
What happens to the enemies of the Jews? What can you learn from Esther’s actions? What are the outstanding features in Mordecai’s character? Summarize the evidence of God’s constant care for his people in exile through this book. How has his care for you been evident in the last few weeks?
The above reading plan will be used as I share over the next few posts. It’s important to have a plan. I’m thankful that Jesus is God’s plan for us and by accepting Him as Savior; we have taken the steps necessary to make this day with Him amazing! At this link: God’s Plan for Us, is a post about accepting God’s plan or reaffirming our “YES” for Christ.
Feel free to respond with a short note or a comment about any of the questions above. Also, I welcome any other thoughts or ideas, favorite inspirational videos, photos, or favorite Bible verses. Just add them to the comments or to a Facebook page I’ve set up at this link: This Day With God.
