On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of man.” Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died. – Acts 12:21-23
King Herod was king of Judea under Roman rule who did not praise or glorify God and was eaten by worms. It is not the powerful that carry out God’s work but the humble. Jesus was born in a stable to a poor girl from a small town. The people Jesus chose as His disciples were uneducated.
God can use any of us to further His Work. Our purpose is to glorify Him and one way to do that is to help people understand that God can use them. We need leaders today that have the skill of building others up. To read more, take a few minutes to read a post titled Applaud Qualities in Others.
